Every time ROC govt not happy with spore regime, there will be commentators or tv program that show SAF 3 arms all set up by ROC. Claimed chiang kai siek provided advisors to train the SAF. Being hokkien, they even claim to have the first woman pilot of Apache until someone told them RSAF already had women pilot years ago then they change tack to first woman for the new Apache model.

Anyway whatever technological advantages ROC military once had were long gone. Without midair refueling capability, ROC Air Force cannot even win local air superiority. Only 1/3 of it French built mirage are still airworthy due to lack of parts. The locally built 经国号 which only the upgraded F5 and the mainstay of their air force are still the F16A/Bs. USA conned them into buying another 66 F16 which each f16 cost more than RSAF pay for F35.
The worst part is not the disparity of the weapons but the low morale of the service men and women as they were view as 米蟲 by the general public due to indoctrination by pro independence media.

Uncle, did I ever say saf better? I only wrote ROC tv host like to claim they were saf shifu in everything.
U can support ROC military, no problem but don't put words in what I wrote as I didn't support the CCP. I want to see 青天百日满地红 to fly again in the mainland. Sinkieland already had a powerful Navy and Airforce by the British..I know that for certain ...we had an entire region called Naval Base in Sembawang with submarines ,oil tankers facilities and barracks..it was these existing naval facilities that later became ship building facilities .. .Many would have know of our Admiralty MRT and such ...it was so named because of the magnificent colonial house where the admiral stayed

Than the Royal Air Force of the British empire was primarily based in Changi ..and their Pilots use to stay both in Changi and Katong.The Seletar airbase was also theirs....the current Changi hospital iis where the British previoualy had theirs treating mainly their armed forces ...all such facilities built with huge monies where trsnsfered to us for the princely sum of $1 for legal sake

The British troops ,particularly the fearsome Scottish men like the Fusiliers and R Guards were stationed in the Chip Bee area of the current Holland Road area .These soldiers were shuttled at a moment notice to any hotspot around the globe whether to quell riots in Cairo or fight in the jungle of Kalimantan

I personally know all these and had fraternise with them since a close relative of mine was a British contractor supplying their needs

All those areas were gated and guarded ..for eg ,there was a Chong Pang circle road divided one leading to Sembawang beach and another to the Naval Base...the whole area was gated and entry only by pass holdets.And I had a pass.

Even before the British quitting we had ANZUK forces stationed here .Mainly the airforce .ANZUK is a combined forces of Australia ,New Zealand and UK...their main airbase was both in Singapore and Butterworh of Penang .

Singapore was not a nation but a garrison ....I was aware of Taiwanese Instructors with the rank of colonel during my SAFTI days but other than that there were not much of Taiwanese that I was aware of

LKY greatest fear was British naval forces and Airforce leaving Singapore since their expenditure alone contributed to almost half of our GDP then .

The co-operation with Taiwan was already mentioned in Old Fart's book. He went to ROC several times, with Gecko and Weil Ling. On the second trip, he asked Chiang Kai Shek for help to train the SAF. The Jews would not permit full scale training of the sort that we needed, i.e battalion level exercises. Chiang Kai Shek agreed to do this in exchange for diplomatic recognition of Taiwan as the actual country representing China. Old Fart refused and a compromise was settled, where the Taiwanese were allowed to open a trade mission here but with the full powers of a functioning embassy. Old Fart's book did not go into details.

But Starting in 1973, the Taiwanese send trainers over here. Laucheow SAF personnel and NSmen might have remembered seeing them. They did built up the air force and the navy. The Taiwanese air force was itself buildup, trained and equipped by the Americans, and they did a good job in dogfights and clashes with the PRC Air Force. The Taiwanese navy at that time was small, but also had a good rep in clashes with the PLN in the straits of Formosa and over the Senkaku islands. SO they had combat experience when they trained us.

The senior officer that Taiwan send over to train our Air Force was Commander Liu Ching Chuan. He was actually born in Ipoh but parents moved to ROC. He later became head of the RSAF. The Navy chap was Khoo Eng An, who was a ROCN senior commander. He also became chief of Singapore Navy. Interestingly, Khoo decided to stay in Singapore after his tour of training was over and became a Singapore Citizen. Nowadays, when these PAP fucktards talk about total defence, I laugh. How much of a total defence can you possibly have when a foreign country knows every detail of your air force and navy? LOL.
