Wong Kan Seng recently appointed to UOB board as a director. How about that?

The father was smart and careful, he would not carry deadwood. The son must have tripped or there is something that WKS can offer and it is certainly not wisdom or even access.

They must have trawled far and wide to get someone of this calibre.

We have conducted a global search for talent. Mr Wong brings with him many years of public service experience and selfless service to the community. We could not have found a better candidate to represent our values. Zero loan recovery and capital adequacy ratios? No. Nothing of that sort. You must be mistaken.

What about logical reasoning ? His either in Singapore or outside Singapore reasoning led to the swift arrest of Mas Selamat.

Instead ST did the press release...

Former deputy prime minister Wong Kan Seng has joined United Overseas Bank as an independent, non-executive director.

Mr Wong, 70, was appointed alongside others as part of moves to increase the size of its board.

In an exchange filing on Thursday night, the bank said: "Increasing the board size would be beneficial to the bank, especially with a view to ensure that there is a pipeline of critical skills following the retirement of directors."

Hope this doesn't mean that he will have to sacrifice his golf time

No big loss, he is probably a lousy golfer anyway. :D

Maybe he has improved because he's had so much free time to play golf ?
When he was part of the BishanToa Payoh GRC he had plenty of free time & held golf get togethers for his constituency.

Seems that he's now a retired MP & maybe that is why he is being offered a directorship. PAP takes care of their own.

Did he improve as an mp all the years that he was one? Based on your answer to this question, you can draw your own conclusions whether his golf has improved. :D
