HDB: Most flaws in flats are 'surface imperfections'

You Saturday this time also on shift?

yeah, i'm working overtime to analyze the surface imperfections of india's latest aircraft carrier.

Why does this charbor always send you her pics in the first place? On the surface, this sounds very fishy and imperfect. :D

Got this charbor always sends me her pics even though I didn't want, now can tell her I don't enjoy pics with surface imperfections. Say facial is too direct and she may ask which part. Surface more vague.

DESPITE a slew of complaints about new flats, about one defect is reported per unit - and this has been the case "in recent years", the Housing Board has told The Straits Times.

The bulk of reported flaws are "surface imperfections", such as hairline cracks, scratches on timber floors and uneven tile joints.

I just watched a Ch 8 show discussing this issue. The flats look very nice what. Why can't the owners just submit defect forms to rectify whatever defects? Complain so much for what? I would love to be in their position.

Every newly completed flat/apt/house has defects, just submit defect and let the developer rectify it. If the developer is responsible, they will rectify the defects. If they can't rectify to satisfaction then ask the developer for compensation.

One doesn't have to be a genius to know the nationality of the construction workers and from which country the materials came from.

If the developer is worthy, defects would not have happened, especially not a whole lot of them.

This is an inevitable consequence of cutting costs.

Yes the quality has impact on the number of defects. But all these surface defects are really quite minor. Many years ago already had such issues for flooring, wall, skirting etc for new condos just that HDB flats were not renovated and so no such complaints then.

And if the developer deviate from the floor plan - like according to the Ch 8 show have two extra pipes taking up space - then can always ask for compensation. I saw from the show about corridor flooding after raining, just ask the developer to install windows can solve the problem. That was what I did to ask the developer to do last time.

Not acceptable lah. Pay so much, still have to tolerate defects. HDB can hire better contractors, instead it goes for the cheapest and giving us such crap.

It is always the details that is the devil. Just like sinkapore looks so good to the international community, when you stay here, you see how crappy it is. Details matter ...when you have to live with the situation.
