earthquake preparation

If you stayed in SG, you wouldn't have to go through all this trouble because the PAP will always be there to take care of you.

i feel safer already as i have faith in them plus the powerful protection from the pap god.

My friend bought a camper van and store all emergency stuffs inside.. If u put all your emergency stuff in some kind of building, most likely they will be buried together with you inside!
i've been preparing for the long-overdue hayward fault for the past 16 years, after loma prieta. that's a given. i've a 4-person tent ready to go up in the backyard, 8 gallons of water at all times on standby, a water distiller, 2 spare tanks of propane gas, 1 propane outdoor bbq grill and cooker, 8 canisters of butane, 2 butane cookers, an inflatable bed, one pump, a gasoline generator, solar lights, torchlights, batteries, canned food for 16 days, sealed emergency food for 32 days, 1 bicycle to get around, and all the necessary tools from the garage and garden tools from the shed.

i stay in sg too, and it's sinkies' complacency that i'm worried about. sinkies are never prepared because they're lulled into a false sense of safety until shit hits the fan. kpkb is what i expect when things go awry. ;)

Modern homes in SFO are all built to a strict earthquake code and the chances of them collapsing like a house of cards is remote.

In NZ, it is mandatory to build either with wooden framing or concrete reinforced in such a manner that it can withstand the force of an 8.5 earthquake with minimal damage.

Older buildings are the most vulnerable because they don't meet current codes.

moreover, for detached or "single family homes" as it is defined here, there's either a 2-car or 3-car garage with storage plus additional space in the backyard for a tool shed and storage shed. i keep temperature-controlled items in the garage storage and spare refrigerator and all other emergency barang barang in the storage shed. the most sturdy closet is right under the stairs indoors (triangle of strength), and that's where i keep the most valuable and useful items including a 6-pack of spare toilet rolls. keeping the ass clean in an emergency situation is extremely important to me.

Its imperative you don't miss to hang this in your doomsday prep
