Yes, these are trades normally handled by pai kia's, gangsters, SS members etc. It's the nature of these trades. You have to have a certain personality in order to stay alive in those trades. And also be able to deal with the kind of customers your business attracts. Prostitution attracts all kind of customers from the decent to the very nasty and you have to be able to handle them all.

Good guys or those with ang mo education tend not to have the required personality to handle the rough and tumble of these trades. Also religious chaps will avoid as its specifically spelt out in their religion that these prostitution and gambling are sins.
