$20k to 10k does not make much of a difference to the buyers earning $3000 and above. It is kacang putih to them. If the Government is sincere and want to make the flats affordable, it should reduce the price across the board instead of a seletive grant which only benefited a selected few, as $150 millions annual grant has shown. The Government should also show transparency in its HDB account. Is the cost of the car park building included in the computation of the cost of the flat?

Back in the '70s the cost of construction was 80% materials and 20% labours. Today it is 80% labour costs and 20% materials to build one.

But in Singapore it seems like labour costs is still cheap as in the '70s time taking ah nehs from India. It should be dirt cheap then.
