Youth injured in Orchard Cineleisure attack

There were names of ordinary detectives from SSIB in those good old days that sent shivers down the spines of "pai kias" (or rather cowards that attack in groups). If the Head is unknown outside then might as well close SSB.

I don't understand what has taken place that led to police officers of today prefering to be "low-profile". Maybe something to do with the taking away of pensions and other major changes that changed the Schemes of Service.

Imagine a Singapore becoming like Harlem and backlanes of Rio De Janeiro.

My hunch is that officers on the ground look for signals from their superiors. If the latter plays it safe, why would their subordinate risk being a maverick? When tiok complaint, no backing means many $$$ setbacks.

In addition, the past SSB detectives were themselves SS/triad members when young. They spoke the lingo, behaved even more pai kia than the pai kias etc. Some were even more knowledgeable on SS matters than SS members. I am also aware some of the competent ones do not want a psoting to SSB. They do not want to be put in difficult situations. I can think of at least 3 very competent senior officers who would make a great Head SSB.

When I hear comments passed on the standard of SSB today by SS/triad members, I also lau kui.

An okt friend of mine once told me that one Hd AVB brought visitors to a fuckshop in Geylang and that particular okt couldn't even recognise the Hd AVB. Even asked Hd AVB and his guests what type of char bor they want!

Hi GD, rank n name pls?

Bro, you want my identity to be exposed or what? Let's just say these 3 chaps were in SSB in the late 90s and now have more than 12 years experience. Rank? All 3 at least SI rank today.

More is very well-known in Geylang. Gangsters see him, all run! That should be the way SSB detectives operate. Never run means bo respect.

such officers are gems, they should be celebrated and re-employ after their retirement

The HARD TRUTH is that they can't wait for the day they retire. SSB usually attracts the howlian and wannabes. Extends to senior officers too. Sadly, the competent ones will siam at all costs a posting to SSB. Too many requests from their hia tees who run into trouble. Conflict of interest.

Another slashing incident? That's what happens when you want to attract more youths to the shopping strip by building *scape there.

But seriously, what's happening to our youths these days?

A man attacked two other men with such sudden ferocity on Thursday night that one of his victims is now in intensive care with suspected head injuries.

The assault happened outside Orchard Cineleisure at about 10pm.

CCTV footage shows how the unarmed attacker knocked both victims to the ground with just his bare fists. He continued attacking them as they lay helpless and stunned.

The attacked were so fast that both victims were not able to defend themselves.

A witness said that what stunned her and her friends was how quick and silent the attack on the second victim had been.

She added: "It was just scary to see something like that happen in front of so many people."

Many were probably raised by single mothers... too busy working to raise them properly.

Bringing home different 'uncles' for the weekends also didn't help. :D

Bro, is Sharon Au (欧菁仙) father one of them?

Or you have any info on him?

There are certain type of people, have too many children; and it is not rare for them, to have children from 1st marriage & then go for another have children..and another &......so, how do you expect to bring them up properly?? & there are those, husband & wife working their heads off "keeping up appearances", rely on maids to pass on values to their children....it is not the number of children that we ought to have, but the quality of them.

I think this has got something to do with the post-80s generation now starting to take up positions in our workforce, including jobs like the Police Force.

The post-80s generation are usually self-centered and obsessed with using their smartphones when they go outdoors.
When it comes to work, they are constantly looking at the clocks on their iPhones to know when they can pack up and go.
And they will always complain (or even refuse outright to take up) if they are given new responsibilities ("Last time I never had to do this one what, why now I must do?").

This is the root cause for a lot of our social issues right now in Singapore.

Hack and slash, Chinese.

Unarmed combat, Malay.

:D:D

You mean this? quote "Silat is the most deadly martial arts ever. It is proven fact compared to any other mainstream forms of martial arts. By the time, the silat exponent executes his first move, his opponent would have killed him." unquote

heh heh heh heh

Precisely! That's the actual reason! But the way this is being phrased, it seems that silat is like some wuxia action. Injuring through qigong? :D

And also one of the few reasons why employees prefer to hire foreigners. Sad. :(
