I paid for this when I bought my HDB you think I am a numbskull? , the next purchase, I could engaged my own or choose from a list approved by HDB, thatw as when HDB changed the regualation after much "grumbling"... I grew up with the PAP, I don't talk nonsense or make hearsay accusations... I respect them as much as I disdain them... just love to hate them & hate to love them!

I don't know if Singapore will be better without the PAP since people are so diehard to vote them out, but I don't know how SDP and WP would fair to be honest! I am the only member of my family who decided to go Australian, fairly because at 18 I was rebellious and wanted to pursue an organic lifestyle. To date Australia is the right place for me because I am a fairly country girl. My boyfriend is the son of a large irrigation farmer. My dad did not decide that I should move there, my brother will prob only want to be here a few years just to study agriculture and science in uni. As I said, I am nothing like a PAP drone. I stay well away from cities, brands etc and I believe in living inexpensively, being a vegetarian, planting my own greens.
And so rests my point! I take nothing personally hereonwards I know people are frustrated. I live with South Americans and they are ANGRY! Their country is corrupt everywhere! I think Singaporeans, if you're so unhappy win the people's vote over the PAP and then get the new government to make the decisions you want "democratically". Don't fucking make up stories. There were no private lawyers used for HDB transactions until private bankers were allowed to provide financing. I've bought and sold two HDB flats which were dealt with by sultry legal-officer at HDB.
Perhaps you are correct. I really don't know. About the conveyancing. With an open mind I accept perhaps this is true. But don't point the finger so readily. This is the first time I've ever heard of it. I however know my father is not capable of corruption he's always been very honest with his dealings and he always tips people and we donate to World vision Australia child sponsorship. He supports RSPCA and other projects. For goodness sake, don't fault a man who grew up so poor he couldn't afford toothpaste for wanting to give it to his children.

The generation corruption bit is true: I can point a finger and go: Hey Singaporeans, which of you has bothered to try to save the environment? I heard Singapore uses the most plastic bags worldwide per head of population! Guess what, future generations are doomed too!

I did not choose how I was born or who my parents are. Any of you could have been me too. The difference as I said is I live without financial aid from my parents and in fact have a very humble life living of a farm in Australia. I even fix my own beaten up 25 yr old car.

If he was my dad, I would have defended him, for he is my DAD, I would be proud of him, that is natural. But many of us don't really bother where, what & how or parents do, to bring home the 'bacon'. Our concern is we get our allowance, get to live the life we expect from our parents and we are used to ; a house with a garden, a room to call our own, our pets etc, our servants to clean & cook & the kebun to mow the lawn, that is life.

The point is not he worked for the FIRM of the land, working long & hard, whether he is 'loved' by his colleague or not for he is the 'blue eye' boy of the boss or not, is that we will naturally feel that, indirectly he gained from working for the FIRM, in which many of us, openly or discreetly will be opinionated.
You have the right to defend your dad, for you have benefited from him, we have a right to cast a wary eye with the FIRM, I am sure the anger is not towards him, but towards the FIRM.
