Absolutely agree. The matriarch controls all the generation down. From doctors appointment, dental, land and house push including which Ivy league uni you can enrol. Parents no say. If you cheong, Bibi will pull you aside and tell you to keep discreet and cannot have mistress who is a pernakan.

If you offend Bibi better ask for detention under ISA. Woman' Charter got no fight. Why you think they are very close knit.

Bibi tongue worst than the sharpest needle, you offend her, hell fury cannot compare!, but you know to "manja" bibi, her makan she cooks or the whatever she bakes...is out of this world...that goes for her tongue also if you offend bibi " out of this world"!!

By the way, this was incident where the fall-out between Yoong Siew Wah and establishment occurred. He was slighted when his boss, Simon Tay's father picked Nathan and not him to handle the matter. He was virtually shut off.

This Yoong guy was from ISD and then went to CPIB.... correct.
Difficult to choose really between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Haha, yes, standard practice. Never give chance. Order one soup kambing and one plate rojak together with friend, 2 rounds of bread, split the meat.

Cheapo makan: Soup kambing, with hard crust bread pieces for 70cts (when mobile stalls could still ply their trade). Short of money, so ask more (kosong) soup to stretch the bread.

Brother,
This learned friend of mine is Ong Hian Sun, D CAD, then back to AGC.
Very smart and humble man.
Cheers.
Have a good weekend.

Bro, I am fine. Hope all's well over your end.

Referring to Chan Seng Onn? He was an enginner before. Now HC judge. Sipay kuailan when he was a DPP. Thinks too highly of himself.

Not sure post of DCAD equivalent to what rank in the SPF. No hard and fast rules I think. When Tan Siong Thye was DCAD, he was as influential as CP when it came to meetings in MHA. That could also be due to the fact that KBH wasn't highly thought of at MHA. When Glenn Knight was DCAD, he was more 'powerful' than CP then - GYH and thereafter TTB.

Current DC, Rajakumar was an AC when he was DD CAD. Not sure if he was DCAD. And if so, his rank then.

DCAD post is not rank/grade dependent. Competency is criteria and not matrix reporting into SPF. Raja was no. 3 to please Botak at MHA. He is as competent as a bus conductor - 3rd class honours so bottom percentile of his law cohort. He DCP to add colour.

However, I know a few learned friends who were third honours Ll.B. but turned out to be very competent lawyers (not those office type solicitors).

The 1st maj downfall of SG. The stop at 2 policy?

The Old Man's social engineering caused several problems.
Fortuntaely, for us in the True North, Strong and Free, we have 4, significantly above average compared to all the "yuppies" on our street in downtown Toronto, either one child or none at all.

How about this ... anyone used one of this in the 70's ??? Chunky Platform Clogs for men.

I remembered it was very popular with higher educational institution students (those Poly's boys).

They normally wore them with matching bell-bottomed pants and long hair!

Don't tried going to JB for those double X (XX) Chinese movies though ... cause you will be stopped at Custom for a hair cut, ha ha!

CEP has turned out to be liability. It can kill someone very early in his career. In Shell, business KPI are in a different world. Superiors began to write assessment based on past CEP. There was an attempt to conceal the CEP after it enters the system but never caught on.

The officer himself has not clue what is going on. I seen so many and a few are out of this world and no relation to reality.

This CEP (Current Estimated Potential) has been the ruin of many a talented and hardworking civil servant.

Those who knows nothing but to "angkat and ular" (carry balls and back-bite) surfs the waves smoothly. Those that are straightforward and hardworking are usually left behind.

We are Asians, led by Asians and elevated by Asians.

Asians are Asians. They have self-pride and resents being told that they are wrong.

They are a world of a difference from the whites, who are true gentleman.

To an Asian what is white to him although black in truth must be white to his subordinates otherwise they may earn his wrath.

A very low-class staff evaluation system.

I have seen many a clown holding high ranks and not knowing the difference between vicinity and virginity.

Commuter and computer.

Mine was made in UK too, I gave that away, including my drawing board, T-Square, drawing tools, pencils etc to someone enrolling to Polytechnic, many, many, many years ago!
