My favourite Hainanese style curry rice is right opposite the Nasi Lemak place. Its not the midnight curry but before the traffic light.
Not that common to find such a place these days, open until 5am i think. Their porridge (stall beside them) not bad too.

actually the best simon road hainanese curry rice moved away a few years liao. those that currently at upper serangoon road are copycat. Those day, that stall only start at 5pm and served till early morning and then cantonese porridge take over in the morning. customers mostly taxi drivers and bargirls with or without their clients. i heard they now operate at a stall in boon keng market.

mee siam stall at lor ah soo estate also not bad. it located at blk 159A, it a coffeeshop underneath a MSCP. operated by a couple in their late 50s, and stay in ave 5.

This is a great thread! Majority of small business owners are pro PAP due to its cheap FT labour policies, pls go ahead and patronise their shops or eatery and make their business bloom

Hi sleaguepunter, the actual owners offspring is running the one before the traffic light. I saw the current owner working there right when the original was still there. Yes i ate it there before, a bit grimy, rusty metal gate etc.

u mean the shop beside the teochew kway? opposite the esso station? saw many customers whenever i drive past but i never go there as i already given up on the food that sell at night on both sides of the road as standard drop and bloody expensive. i only go there in day time to either buy "ben kway" or eat the pomfret fish soup at the coffeeshop right at the traffic light junction.

Yes sir. Many years ago, i used to take cab from Yishun all the way there and back at midnight just for the curry rice. One day, a taxi driver uncle was unconvinced and after sending me there, ordered and ate at another table. He then admitted it was very good and got another plate of rice for me. Of course
then i took his cab back home but he just charged me without the midnight charge.

the chinese herbal mutton soup was from ave 7, the coffeeshop's block was demolish together with the market. i ate their food since schooling time. their wanton mee also not bad.

u mean the fried prawn mee? it located at the first row facing inside. the row that has a jap bento stall. honestly, standard also drop.

the malay stall at the upper level last time as beri cheap. $2.50 nasi lemak very big packet but i had not try them after the renovation.

The current ruler party wont let off WP so easily.They also scare of losing more grc.The influence will be there.How they going to do it to get back Aljunie ... well we will wait and see 4 yrs later.Unless we the people of Singapore all united as a whole and stand behind wp mr Low line and move on until the whole of Singapore under WP.
Change the system so that no single party can rule everything.No single power can command so many thing.President must be independently elected by the people of Singapore.Prime minister will be elected by a group of committee consisting of both ruling and opposition camp and some public servants... to make it as independent as possible...

no one can rule the strait times.... make it independent.more news time open up in singapore.free speech and ideas.no more ISD fear.

no more ntuc kana stuff or what stupid grassroots stuff.

only if all these can take affect, we will never be consider a true democratic republic of singapore.hai....
