Philippine warship in standoff with China vessels

i didnt say the vessels are armed. i am just implying the real "owner" of these vessel is the PLA Navy. soviet like to use deep ocean trawlers to shadow USN, so i bet my last dollar "surveying" is the last thing on these vessels' capitains mind.

real owner of the vessel are the chinese gov.

Pinoy surrendered to Spain, then to USA, then to Japan, then rescued back to civilisation by USA. They're worse at warring and battling than India, Indonesia and Malaysia combined. PRC should just invade them and ask what the fuck USA is going to do about it. Want some free fish import?

Php will not survive a military confrontation with PRC, but they will try and rope the USA in to help them...

So Manila was the financial capital of Asia up to the early 70's?
But have u asked if this was because of the efforts and ingenuity of the people?
No, it was probably because Philippines was an American colony and remained America-controlled even after it became independent.
And that's why BOA regional HQ was in Manila.

Many of the rich and powerful in Philippines have Chinese blood.
The current President is 1/4 Chinese (his mother Cory Aquino is half Chinese).

Seriously, I've never been impressed by the Filipinos. Their caving in to demands of kidnappers in Middle East during the Iraq war is just one example of their lack of backbone. The Indonesians have definitely more backbone, and the Javanese smarter than the Filipinos.

Now we are laughing at the Philippines for being weak economically and militarily. For those of us old enough will remember that Manila used to be the financial capital of Asia up to the early 1970s. BOA has its regional HQ in Manila and bank managers from Singapore have to fly all the way to Manila to attend training. The country provided air and naval bases for US troops stationed in SE Asia. Marcos and his cronies caused the downfall of this once proud nation...

The Philippines lack any proper air defence aircraft, armoured vehicle or ship. If not for uncle sam, they would have been re-invaded again and again. Even one battalion of the SAF. can force Manila to surrender.

and which battalion would that be? 虎豹天兵神营?

Surveillance vessel differs from naval vessels. They are not armed.

Just tell me what weapon did you see?

View attachment 4477

No armament carried on hull, weapons carried are likely small arms for point defense. Surveillance ships are ocean platforms for signals intelligence, hydrographic survey. Likely for this one

Re: Can Just Take Mah

The philipines is part of Asean. If they have a conflict, singapore will surely get dragged in.
I see alot of open mob and standby taking place in singapore.

I dislike the Pinoys to the hilt.

But let us not forget that every Asian cities in the past few hundred years owe it's glory to the Western colonists.

That including Singapore & Shanghai......yes!like Manila,Saigon,Colombo,HK,Singapore,Jakarta,Phnom Penh,Rangoon and etc etc were the creation of Western Trade.

Even today, the entire Asian dragons of the East including the emerging super powers like China,Russia,India and Brazil owes it's rise simply because the West trade with them and buy their products and services. Nothing more, nothing less.

If anyone wants to cut that vital link to the West is akin to cutting the proverbial golden goose for the golden eggs it lays.

Let us not forget this hard truth.

Relax la. If there were a war, it would be in PH, not SG. After all, Singapore is already a county of China (坡县). :)

Relax?Pleez lah.

Any tension between any Asian countries would surely be felt in Singapore.

Because Singapore has a huge numbers of these foreigners in it's soil.

Tension will flare among the FT and perhaps will spill over right on our door steps.

PRCs in Singapore may turn violent on Pinoys and Pinoys may take it out on any ethnic Chinese working with them by sabotaging them in their work place.

Chinatown and Little India had been secretly put on full red alert before by SPF.Not because trouble were brewing here put troubles were brewing in their countries.

That their problem with PRC. No need to drag the entire ASEAN into this. recent ASEAn summit in Cambodia also didn't adopt a unified stance because other than Pinoy, Vietnam, Brunei, no other country is keen to get involve.

This is China. Pinoys won't dare to try anything funny here. :)

Mighty empires felled very much because of such mind set.

Just remember ,millions die because of the smallest micro organism than mighty warriors.Mosquitoes kills more than mighty lions.

Like cancer Pinoys are very capable of killing us within....and they will if triggered.Even a cat turns ferocious if cornered. That is why even the mighty Israeli forces never corners Arabs in any battle.

PAP as usual had mismanaged our population policy.

Yes, many Asian cities owe their glory to Western colonists.

But some, like Singapore, continued to improve after becoming independent. Others just stagnated or deteriorated. Philippines is definitely the latter. Also, while HK was still a British colony, the local tycoons were already buying over the British conglomerates or 'hongs' (e.g., Li Ka Shing's Whampoa, etc.) and went on to become global players. You don't see this kind of ingenuity in the filipinos.

It is not about cutting "that vital link to the West". It's about the Filipinos not being able to improve their lot after independence and all their past glories.

In the 60s, the Phillipines was the richest and most prosperous nation in South East Asia. They operated the region's first jet fighters and seem to be on their way to be the dominant region power. Even the Thais didn't came that close. Once Marcos took power, we all knew saw how fucked up their country was and still is after him.

Becoming a shitty nation is not exclusive to Manila per ce.

All dictators share this legacy.Sri Lanka with Mrs Bandrnaike .Cambodia with Pol Pot.Burma with her current generals.Saigon with her Ngo Dinh Diem and Ky .Indonesia with Suharto.

We are reeling under PAP dictatorial rule. It's just that we have not woken up to the reality.
