usual taxi drivers born loser story.the very fact that he has no savings despite a pay of 15K for so many years just goess to show his sh!tty attitude and his cow sense when it comes to money and savings. this type of cow beh cow bu arrogant manager attitude is not worth even $5K. this is karma for him for not planning and now only suitable for taxi driver, only job protected by garmen for born losers and sh!tty people.

If you're earning $15,000 per month, why would you not pay off your credit card bills every month ? Why do you still need cash loan ? What is the money going to ? Casinos ?

I think the money going to KTV hostesses and expensive hotels to have sex. Going to expensive restaurants and drink expensive wine.

wah wah $15k. If I were him I would have saved that 14k and spend 1k per mth.
When he reduced to $5k he still complain. If I earn $5k I would have saved 4k per mth.
I think for him even earn $100k per mth he will feel not enough LOL

Good plan BUT not many people can achieve that.

I make much less than him but I've got enough $$ now to retire to some place cheap like Thailand. However I don't have a wife & children. He makes no mention of this wife's spending habits or if she is working. So plenty of guess work as to how hard up he really is.

In Spore it is all about the total stream of income you can generate in a life time. This is hard to determine because there are few worker protection laws, safety net,... in place. You could have a great paying job one day & be out of a job the next. I don't see how so many can spend so extravagantly on lifestyles which require so much $$$ to sustain.

If there are more people like him the countries in big trouble.

Silly sinkie. Keep cash in bank to earn sub 1% interest while inflation takes 5% off the total every year? Then again, if that was the case, he shouldn't be living in a HDB flat with a $15K salary. He should be living in something worthy of a $30K per month salaried man.

15k a month is not a lot.. Any savvy young Internet entrepreneur in their early 20s can earn this amount easily.

And if you say he is living in a rental flat that he thinks he owns it.. He deserves to be screwed.. No surprise that he is screwed now.. Sinkie.

If PAP starts having sympathy for these $15k/month losers, that is when people should seriously reconsider their support. These $15k/month losers should have saved a mere $5k a month for the last 10 years which would have meant $600k in the bank!! With some prudent investments, it could be between $800k to $1 million!

I'm pretty confident that people who write to their MPs or appeal to Ministers when they have lost their jobs are people who had voted for PAP and might still vote for PAP. They are under the misguided impression that PAP cares, and by writing sob stories to PAP they think they can get something out of it.

I cannot believe people who used to earn $15,000 a month can be reduced to such a sorry state. He must have omitted some serious facts in his sob story.

I think whether he is poor in financial planning or over invested or reckless in consumer spending are not the main issues in this story. The main thing is why are foreigners able to get jobs, enjoy life and raise their family happily in Spore while Singaporeans like him have to struggle to find a job that allowed him to enjoy what the foreigners are enjoying in Spore.

In other countries, the situation would almost certainly be the other way round. Isn't it?
