bullshit! sg is among one of the most stable states in 158th position. the higher the number, the more stable the state. the ranking for 2014 is listed by ffp as follows. tremeritus must be smoking weed or getting it's perineum dissected when quoting the source. "most worsened by score" is a useless, ridiculous statistic. by the way, ffp, which itself is a left-wing fuckshit organization, has changed failed states to fragile states.

http://ffp.statesindex.org/rankings-2014

is it more stable or less than north korea?i believe with 40% opposition in singapore, there is inherent instability.....and that is a weakness in the system.

in ffp's 2014 ranking, sg is wedged between japan (157th) and the u.s. (159th). south korea is 156th. if anything nasty happens between north and South Korea anytime, millions will die on both sides, including over 27k u.s. military personnel stationed all over the southern peninsular. it's a powder keg ready to blow up any minute. i consider south korea more dangerous than say, burma, laos, cambodia, thailand, malaysia, or indonesia. never be deceived by the current "peace" and "economic" vitality that sk is enjoying today. it is just as fragile as nk. if nk were to go down, she will take sk along with her. no such danger or degree of instability for sg. sg can only be undone by stupid and insane sinkies. :p

coming from the guy who says the most ridiculous things....even more ridiculous than the MIW themselves.

On the contrary all I do is stick to the facts. It is for that reason that nobody can dispute what I post.

so basically ur saying it will be stupid and insane to topple the PAP government?which is pretty ironic cause i do not see any future for sinkies in this country if the status quo persist.....i predict sinkies will be extinct by 2020.so my goal is to achieve financial success by 2020 and leave this country and watch it burn from the sidelines.

and pray tell how is millions going to die if anything nasty happens between north and south korea.i think u seriously overestimate their military might and technology, and i doubt that starving wasteland of a country even have the fuel or ammunition or food to carry out any sort of prolonged war.their military equipment is from the dinosaur era and seriously pitiful in the age of supercomputing....its like using the Apple II to fight with my lenovo ideapad with 8 gb ram I7 processor 2 gig geforce graphics....yes u can get the Apple ii to speak in a corny robot voice and say the word "hello i am macintosh" in 8 bit graphics which is mindblowing back in the 1970s but my lenovo can play eve online on high settings and full bloom effects in a 200 man/ship battle while converting a porn video into high resolution mpeg2.

only reason i can tell that north korea hasnt been invaded yet and that nuthouse liberated,is because China will not allow it.north korea is a buffer zone....and south korea most likely wouldnt wish it,since they value their high economic status and wouldnt want millions of refugees flooding their country.

china have lost control and leverage with nk. at anytime, nk have at least one million troops underground north of seoul ready to invade. the border from seoul is close, in fact so close that when nk let loose either an artillery barrage or missile strike, there's hardly time for warning. pusan is safer from a pre-emptive attack, but seoul, the heart and capital of sk is situated in the worst and most unfortunate spot, with most of sk's elites and population centered in and around her. nk's 1st strike will take out seoul, inchon, and the u.s. osan afb. i have friends who are stationed there, and they are resigned to the stark reality that they are sacrificial lambs. in my past professional experience, i had the honor of surveying the entire south korean landscape for strategic placements of sensitive stations and equipment, including sites at the border, so i know what i'm talking about more than anyone else on sbf.

artillery or barrage strike ahahahaha,i dunno whether u have seen pictures of north korea's missile buggies or artillery but they are nothing more than a bunch of vietnam war or cold war junk thats has no accuracy whatsoever and as good as party poppers.....first strike lmao.....have u seen pictures of wwii firebombing of japan by hundreds of allied bombers, thats what i call carnage.....i dont think a bunch of 50 year old rusted junk artillery is going to do much to a city......there is also a question of ammunition, how many artillery shells do u think north korea has, remember all the recent demonstrations that north korea put up?i suspect they do not have any more ammunition than to put up a fireworks show to "frighten" their enemies.....

as for their nukes.....it is suspected they have limited nuclear capability....but there is also the question of delivery.....

North and South Korea will unite in our lifetimes, assuming you are around the age I think you are :-)

all brainwashed nk soldiers have to die off or be completely detoxed before that can happen. the current dynasty in the north with a chubby puppet will perpetuate the status quo cum hell or high water. the faction which is more tolerant of opening up or at least intimate with china has been purged. :o

Sillypore's downfall already started when the gahbrament decided to groom their own GLCs to compete with all local firms.
Instead of providing local firms a conducive environment to grow their business, it has eventually killed all of them.
The situation got even worse when woody Goh decided to run Sillypore as a corporate entity.
The MIW only put themselves and their own GLCs profits and interests as the number 1 priority.

Yes, lots of S Koreans believe unification will happen within next 10 years. In fact there is a committee alr setup to prepare for it. Just waiting for someone to assassinate their dear leader!!

Apart from the Hongkies, the South Koreans are the most dynamic people in Asia. I truly salute them. Even to the point of owning Samsung shares and buying two Samsung handphones. The SK should start drafting up plans for a single Korean government and how to prosecute corrupt NK officials. Kim and his family should also start thinking about asylum if they know what's good for them!

My prediction: A unified Korea will qualify for the 2034 world cup.

NZ is full of South Koreans, who, when you get to know them, will start cursing South Korean society and their government in EXACTLY the same way that sinkies do about Singapore.

The similarities were so glaring it was scary.

Read this : http://english.khan.co.kr/khan_art_view.html?artid=201404211623357&code=790101

Such a reality is no different off the ferry. The government exercises its right to govern in exchange for being responsible for the lives, safety and welfare of its citizens. But our government is hanging on to a principle of growth with no social safety net. One example is the government’s target in state administration: per capital income of $40,000. The government’s irresponsibility and lack of direction, not knowing what the citizens need and what the government should tackle first, is one factor lying behind the latest tragedy.

The education system :

http://www.economist.com/node/21541713

he single set of multiple-choice tests that students take that day determines their future. Those who score well can enter one of Korea's best universities, which has traditionally guaranteed them a job-for-life as a high-flying bureaucrat or desk warrior at a chaebol (conglomerate). Those who score poorly are doomed to attend a lesser university, or no university at all. They will then have to join a less prestigious firm and, since switching employers is frowned upon, may be stuck there for the rest of their lives. Ticking a few wrong boxes, then, may mean that they are permanently locked out of the upper tier of Korean society.

Suicide rates : http://beyondhallyu.com/culture/south-korea-the-suicide-capital-of-the-world/

I started researching this issue when I became good friends with a Korean family who moved in to the house across the road. They moved to NZ because they said that Korea was stressful, corrupt to the core and the last place on earth they would want their children to grow up in.

My honest advice is to have nothing whatsoever to do with Korea because it a worse version of Singapore plus it is on steroids which is cheating.

Give me the American way of life anytime. I like the idea of poor kids and university dropouts becoming billionaires far more than what I see in Korean society.

PS: If you meet a bunch of Koreans on the golf course, be prepared for misery. They're crude, rude and they ignore all golf etiquette.

You can have a dynamic people but a fucked up government. Not surprising. The SK people are also intelligent and discerning and it's definitely no surprise to see them being so critical.

100 trillion also no use, is Lee money not your money.

Singapore cannot become a failed state with one trillion in total reserves. Divide that by the total population and on a per capita basis, SG is filthy rich, and you can see easily that we will not become a failed state like the examples you mention.

The problem we have is declining ministerial competency, entrenched dogma in the way the governing regime approaches politics and social issues, disenfranchisement on the part of locals who are displaced by foreigners, and inequity between the elite segment and the working class. Note that I use the word "inequity" - because it is not inequality that is harmful to society, but inequity (crucial distinction needed).

Failed govt policies we have plenty. That does not make us a failed state yet.
