There are 222 Malaysian MP's plus 11 sultans and all their relatives which can number several hundreds. Not a good comparison.

Right, and Malaysia is X times larger than Sinkapoor.

As for the MPs and relatives, if you look at all the fellas heading GIC and Stat Boards, we are not far off as compared to our neighbours.

Don't mess with the Malaysian royals or Malaysian VIPs ...they are ruthless. Look at how eager those politicians bring out the mob on an issue.

Most royal folks all over the world are nothing more than parasites.

Even the so-called great king of Thailand Bhumibol has a vagrant womanizer son (Vajiralongkorn) who is the Crown Prince and will be the next Thai king.
And Vajiralongkorn's wife was an ex-porn star.

I heard the Thai king is having succession problem because of his useless sons. That's one of the reasons why the red/yellow shirt fiasco dragged on and on.

Agree.

Many years ago, I was escorted out of a disco in JB by the bodyguards of a royal. They made me finish 2 bottles of Henessy without a break. The royal angry because I potong jalan his girlfriend at the dance floor.

It was a scary episode indeed.:o

At least the king & company recognise that they have a problems.

Where as in Spore we are stuck with a world class mummy's boy. Look at all the problems he & his wife has caused: public transport breaking down, unplanned millions stressing our infrastructure, billions in loses,...

Johor Sultan says forgives foreigners who alleged they were beaten up

By Lisa J. Ariffin May 10, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — The Johor Sultan said today that he has forgiven four Singapore-based expatriates involved recently in a fracas with royal bodyguards on the resort island of Rawa.

"We welcome foreigners to the state but they must respect our laws," Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar told reporters in Johor Bahru today.
Speaking at Istana Pasir Pelangi, Sultan Ibrahim said foreigners have to respect local laws, and the same applied to locals visiting other countries. The Sultan (picture) said he forgave those involved in the incident and hoped they would return for holidays.

The four expatriates had alleged that they were attacked by royal bodyguards while on holiday in the Johor island. Singapore’s The Straits Times reported that the men were “brutally assaulted” within hours of arriving at Alang’s Rawa resort on Pulau Rawa, the second attack in seven years on the island with alleged links to Malaysian royalty.

Palace security officials today said the foreigners had used vulgar words while "showing the middle finger".

The foreigners were also accused of being intoxicated during the incident on Friday night, according to a report in The Star today. In giving their version of the brawl on the tourist resort island, palace and security officials said one of the foreigners trespassed onto a powerboat belonging to the Sultan of Johor berthed at the jetty and tried to choke a crew member who tried to prevent him from boarding.

The brawl then ended with at least two of the expatriates injured. The Straits Times in Singapore had yesterday reported that the men were “brutally assaulted” within hours of arriving at Alang’s Rawa resort on Pulau Rawa, the second attack in seven years on the island with alleged links to Malaysian royalty.

According to the daily, the attack at the resort island left a 28-year-old British man covered with injuries and his German friend in intensive care with bleeding in his brain.

“They grabbed my arm, surrounded me, and kicked me in my genitalia to disable me first, then the onslaught just happened,” the man, who spoke on condition of anonymity, was quoted as saying by The Straits Times. The holidaymaker said he and his three friends, all in their 20s, were having dinner on Friday night when a Malaysian VIP arrived with “a lot of security” and “they started playing hip-hop music.”

According to the newspaper, the two victims were invited over for drinks including shots of tequila with the VIP, also in his 20s, and his cousin.

“He was friendly all along and showed no hostility at all. My friend was in mid-conversation with the VIP and his cousin when this aggressive-looking guy just slapped him out of nowhere.

“I don’t know what the nature of the conversation was, I was at the other end of the table, but there was something that was said that wasn’t ‘correct’,” he said. According to the Brit, the German was followed to the bathroom by the bodyguards.

“I went to see what was going on, but got pushed out of the bathroom. I don’t know what happened in there, but he ran out like a bullet... through the bar and out onto the beach then into the forested area, and they chased him down,” he said. He added that the remaining men then turned on him before he dashed into the sea, swimming back to shore only after the attackers had left.

He said he then returned to his room and alerted his other friends, but the attackers had caught up with the German man on another part of the island.
The foreigners were asked to leave the island after settling the bill and later lodged a report with the Singapore police and complained to their respective embassies.

However, the security officials disputed the foreigners’ account, said The Star Online report. They said the foreigners had rudely interrupted members of the royal family and their guests dining at the resort at about 11pm.
They said one of them even approached a member of the royal family and asked if he was a royalty before sticking up his middle finger.

“After showing the finger, the man shouted vulgar words at the royalty.
“This made everyone there angry and there was a brawl,” one security official was quoted as saying.

The officials said a bodyguard who witnessed the insult confronted the foreigners and that led to a fight. They said a foreigner injured himself after stepping on a coral and was treated by a doctor in the royal entourage, according to the report.

The sultan of johor is such a nice and wonderful guy and so forgiving. He even extended an invitation for the 4 ang mohs to visit johor. Perhaps after the injured German has recovered from intensive care would take up the invitation.

If I am the sultan I will never forgive them.

Where got 11 sultans? Penang, Malacca, Sarawak and Sabah don't have sultans. Malaysian political representation ratio at national and municipal levels is about the same as Singapore. An average Malaysian ward has about twice the population of an average Singapore ward. However, the Singapore ward only one MP for both parliamentary and town council affairs. The Malaysian ward has an MP in federal parliament and an assemblyman in state assembly.

Lao hero you're drunk again. If you potong jalan a sultan girlfriend, you'd be dead. If you down two bottles of Hennessy at one go without be dead, you'd also be dead. You're just drunk and they booted your booty out of the disco.

the sultan forgave the expats despite beating them up severely. Do you see what's going on here?

I beat you up pretty badly and ok perhaps you might have been a bit disrespectful i dunno. Here's the thing: Both sides version of events might have been made up or exgerrated a bit and i don't think you can trust the sultan's version anymore than the expats but here's the thing. The expats were beaten up pretty badly that's one thing for sure.

I find it hilarious that after beating them up so badly the sultan forgave them such that he's giving the impression that he's magnanimous enough to forgive them while ignoring the fact that they have been punished for perhaps being disrespectful.

You see how he thinks he thought that the punishment always even good enough or within his own rights and tries to act like he's on the moral high ground even after beating them up badly by forgiving them.

When i read "4 ang mohs get beaten up on Malaysian island" i immediately understood what happened.

1) Ang Moh thinking they can act superior like in Sinkie land
2) Ang Moh thinking the locals will suck up to them like in Sinkie land
3) Ang Moh thinking they can get drunk (for free) and insult Asians like in Sinkie land
4) Ang Moh thinking they are untouchable like in Sinkie land

By the way the word "expat" has been much abused. Most ang mohs in Sinkie land are on local terms, some are jobless.

So ang moh got bruised nose, bruised ego and bruised balls which are well deserved.

What's the big deal? Let's move on

Honestly, I think the sultan is doing a lot of people a BIG favour to bring the angmoh back to their senses. A lot of these idiots come to Asia and thinks that they are still the landlord.
