This year is AWWA year. White paper, pussy president who is likely to contest unopposed and return for another term this year and now exemption from conscription. Enhancement to woman charter. Crème of crème will be a female DPM.
Give our fellow female citizens a break. They have a FAR more vital role that only they are capable of in society than men - the ability to give birth. NS men may claim that they carry full packs & combat orders, walked for miles but often it happens only perhaps 5 times a year & duration of only a day, & after 2 yrs, it hardly happens again for most men. However, pregnant women not only carry a baby for 9 FULL MONTHS, but CARE, LOVE & NUTURE the newborn citizen for 21 yrs & more.
While it is true that not all women will want to give birth, but MOST do. So treasure & cherish them, as they TOO perform a critical National Service to Civilization. As this is Singapore, a nation of equals, let women instead have the freedom of choice, to serve or not to serve in the military. It is a career & job opportunity too, & more, as they will learn to gel in a team in arduous trials & learn about camaraderie in the military, than other jobs where only petty emotions & individualism is often the rule.

My deepest respect to the Israeli men & women whom served in their military. They faced existential threats DAILY as there are outside forces from other nations whom wished to 'wipe them off the face of world map', & almost did several times in this century alone. In such times, it is either everyone 'on the deck' or be wiped out as a civilization.
Should one day when Singapore have to face a FINAL STAND, there wont be a need for conscriptions of our fellow female citizens. While the shallow minded will flee, MOST will remain & fight even with their bare hands, to protect their loved ones the way a tiger would, properties & way of life here. As it is a FINAL STAND, they only need to learn how to use a rifle. Tactics, strategies & organization will lay within the hands of those whom are serving NS at that time & regulars. Battles will be fast, furious & quick, to hold off till armistice is reached.
Most whom had served NS will know the need, & had long been prepared for such an eventuality. They know where to report to, obtain their arms & organize themselves. The World is not as stable as proven by events in Ukraine. While some will flee, attempt to convince others to do the same & live on knees in other nations, most of us will remain, to defend & protect our loved ones, our way of life & the sacrifices made by our founders & forefathers whom had sacrificed so much, worked so hard, to give us our todays, & to rebuild as they did after the crisis is resolved.
May such a day never come, but if we have to make that stand, TOGETHER we will....
