Should SDP be happy with this exceptional verdict?

I think you are getting very petty and personal. LaMei focus and interest may not fit the conventional mould of politics as we know it but she obviously add value to SDP in the way that they prefer.

I think you should also realise that she has inadvertently and unwittingly has become a proxy and its not nice to take advantage of it and use her as her proxy as well.

Thought I had recalled a "public persona" that is "candid" and should "cut him some slack".

You now know what I mean when I said "It's not that".

Dear Scroobal

Ahhh I see u have met the immutable and unyielding self righteousness of what passes for logic and political discourse for their old miss ah go go.

Perhaps as illustrative of the manner she thinks and the black and white way she see's the world :_))........In the old sammyboy....there was a policy debate about it was either health care insurance or welfare insurance. The PAP's policy was one of no subsidies, I believed and argued some form of co funding or at least 50/50 , she believed in well for the PAP to subsidize 100%. Suffice it to say I was called a PAP apologist for that position and to this day she could not answer why I am an Apologists if the PAP would oppose her position as strongly as mine.

She is a passionate believer but at the end of the day an empty unthinking piece of clay to be moulded by the next charismatic leader she encounters to spout or regurgitate the same rhetoric with which she was filled without thinking , without thought.50

That you're a PAP apologist, that much is established. Now we're only haggling over the quantum. When I was hospitalised, the government subsidies on my bills were about 65%. You're arguing for that to be reduced to 50:50? Any non-retard could see that from 65% and still want to argue, the next logical target would be 80 or even 100%.

btw, just to make it on record. I have both the brain and balls, proven in whatever i did in the past. Technically speaking, you have none.

That is beside the point. Neverthless, the only difference between you and me is that i don't go around banging my balls and my brain against the wall. It is not about going to jail or being fined. It is about preserving strength to fight the electoral battle upfront and not wasting energy being worn down by lawsuits after lawsuits. I thought i have made it clear in one of those unfortunate time that i have tea with your group of people.

And indeed, you and others have been experiencing exactly what i have predicted back then. I.e. Pap government will wear you down with lawsuits, drain your resources, both financial, time and energy. Uncle yap could afford to "play" with pap adminstration but i could not. I don't think you could afford but that's your business. I don't think some of your ging gang could afford too, but they chose their paths, retracting subtly in self-preservation, so be it. That is the right move, nothing to be shameful about.

I have reiterated again and again that you are empty between the ears with all justifications. You thought it is an act of "heroism" to bang walls and balls altogether but if you really read history, especially military history, all great generals know when to siam from the enemy's attack if they are stronger upfront while taking advantage on the flanks when it is weaker. Avoiding direct clash when you are totally outnumbered in terms of men, armory and resources. It will always be the best option unless you have no other choice.

Any good general will not just act on rush or just pure senseless "bravery". The aim is to win the game, not to be some senseless suicidal squad.

你以为你可以成为烈士但是可惜的是你只是个不知量力愚蠢之极的蠢蛋。

The PAP's position was Zero Subsidies.

Then who paid 65% of my hospital bill? Secret admirer?

PAP's position of no subsidy is for wealthy people like you, who will choose Class A and can comfortably afford it like tossing loose change. Or those Scrooges with millions in their bank accounts but fight for subsidised wards with the poor and needy when they're warded.

Class C is subsidised at about two-thirds, that's PAP position. And poor folks like us will fight for more, not less. Might as well refund the subsidies back to government. We'd appreciate that rich folks like you stop trying to fight for us without having the quorum and without knowing the quantum.

I neither apologise to nor thank PAP for the subsidy. They should have paid my bill fully instead of making me pay the other one-third.

Dear Scroobal

Perception is everything in politics. The group dynamics within the party or in fact any party may be widely different but what matters at the end of the day is perception and the concentration of activities which gives rise to that perception.

The SDP website has already clearly stated in trying to thread the camel through a needle that they view Activisim and Civil disobedience as paramount with the aim of reforming the electoral system whilst that of elections is one primarily of political education.

Their actions previously with protests and arrests have been illustrative of this , though in the last two years they have made some attempt to correct that by swinging back to bread and butter issues with the "TBT' protest and appearing regularly in TP.

Locke

first and foremost, u must realise that many who claim support for SDP are not members or rather they do not claim themselves as members. at best, they would say they are supporters. at worst, they will be honest with you and declare that they are actually "PARTYLESS".

this bring us to the next confusion. if neither supporters or members but preferring to be PARTYLESS, then what the hell do they represent? SDP, themselves or a devious hidden personal agenda?

peasants do not like ambiguity. and if those jokers are honest, they should come out clean spick and span.

what we are seeing might not even be SDP'S MANDATE. how can supporters or partyless represent SDP? isn't it the duty and responisblity of MEMBERS exclusive only?

gosh! when my li'l brother LEETAHSAR was admitted into the hospital, he was paid a hefty 4-figures. yep! the hospital paid him and NOT he paid the hospital fees.

the hospital he went to was haunted with many pretty, friendly and young mei mei nurses.

wonder did he go to the right hospital or did u go the wrong one?

Yes. Subsidy is a different issue from ever-upward spiralling medical cost.

Without subsidy to cushion the impact of medical cost, I won't be surprised if many are killed on sight of the medical bill, not by the disease.

We should fight on both fronts, the control of medical cost and the subsidy. It's not a question of one or the other.

u must check with LEETAHSAR which hospital he went to that pay him handsomely for his stay there.

if gabramen pays every single cents, there sure would be a long queue where many would die to get admitted. LOL!!

Dear Ramseth

U refer to a direct subsidy in terms of direct costs for ward charges, specialist and medicine charges in any hospital bill.

The issue at hand during that period was with the out of pocket expenses to be covered by both Medisave and Medi Shield a vis sa vis health insurance costs, and social insurance costs in which there was Zero Gov Subsidy.

The PAP's position was zero to start. I was arguing for 50/50 and etc etc.

And I'm arguing for 100% free basic Medishield coverage. Those who opt to upgarde to Plan B or Plan A can pay more premiums for more coverage.

Basic Medishield doesn't even cover everything. There's still deductible and co-insurance. For example, first $2,000 unclaimable, subsequent amounts 20% unclaimable, the rest of claims also subject to limits too.

So, even with premium-free Medishield coverage, the unfortunate patient still has to face medical bills of up to $2,000 or even more. Direct subsidy is assessed before Medishield claim assessment. That is, no matter what, the patient pays. Direct subsidies can't be used to make up for deductible and co-insurance.

Anyway, Medifund has amassed huge reserves waiting for half-dead half-bankrupted patients to queue up hat-in-hand to beg for relief, and have all their kins subjected to be financially investigated and scrutinised. Why not just use Medifund to pay for basic Medishield premiums for all Singaporeans?

Dear Ramseth

And I am arguing for a co sharing basis of 50% / 50% so as not to encourage over consumption of health care but do remember that the PAP does not subsidize Medi Shield at present and for increasing premiums so as to increase coverage and lessen out of pocket expenses

In the area of Medishield premium, I hope that you remember that your kampung uncle Khaw Boon Wan actually increased premiums to "build a larger reserve". In layman's term, this is called overcharge first, talk later.

In all these years in the old SBF and this forum, have you ever seen him engage in a serious debate on politics, government issues etc. Till today, I have no clue what his opinions are on any issue of national interest. His position are clear when it involves soccer, hawker food etc. Its for this reason that I have called him Teflon. You talk to him about A, he will jump to C, you follow him to C, he will move to Q.

One things is for sure - he is not dumb and he has high political acumen. There are many a days I wonder where he draws his income from. One thing is for sure, he got a direct line to WP, SDP, NSP etc. I wonder who is covering RP, SDD
