Guys - please watch this before commenting... this is not another home delivery e-commerce thing.
I'd say this new technology is worth watching.. I wonder if it can work in sinkieland
dont u just love it when videos dont explain how their technology works i can already imagine a thousand and one ways this thing can fuck up,and they have to come up with bombastic words like "sensor fusion" and "deep learning algorithm" like business speak managers and ministers use when they are trying to contribute or direct when they dont really know anything like for example paradigm shift or promote synergy while differentiating core competencies thru value adding services and transformational change while fungibly envisioning client centric archictectures.if u hear any minister or ceo uttering those words run as fast as u can.
it can only work in an utopian society where only angels need to grab food items.
yes it looks great on video when u only have to buy one item at a time but who does that?has amazon seen the long queues at giant or ntuc and the shitskins with their $400 shopping carts enough to feed a indian village taking up 30 minutes at the counter each time?
that's what the tech is attempting to counter: no more checkout counters, no more cashiers, no more checkout lines. just zap your app on your phone at check-in and off you go shopping for food. once you grab your food and place it in any bag (eco-friendly recyclable bag is encouraged in video), the sensor and software deduct item from shelf and charge it to your account. the "cart" in the software means a virtual (soft) cart, not a humungous costco-like cart meant for bulk purchases. due to layout of store, you'll not be able to push a full-size cart around to stock 69 items worth $696. it's designed for the grab-n-go customer, a.k.a. working white collar adult in a rush to reach home from work as a date or sexual partner is waiting to get fucked after a quickie dinner.
