Yeah, they use "bumi" as a shortform for "bumiputera" (also spelled "bumiputra") which literally means "princes of the soil", as though they were the indigenous people.

But that's false. They have essentially usurped the rightful place of the truly indigenous people, the Orang Asli, in a way not very different from Australia and the Aborogines. The Malays originated from, guess where .... Southern China!

The word bumiputra is from india. Malay land were indian colonies for maybe 1000 years from sri vijaya to raja chola. Sultan of kedah is the longest continuous dynasty began about 1000 years ago.

Even before separation in 1965, malayans search for better opportunities in sinkie. P Ramlee is a good example, from penang to sinkie. Many kampung malays joined the british merchant fleet from sinkie port.

The welfare and affirmative action under NEP is bound to fail. It is actually rewarding the mediocre snd punishing those who excel. You can take blacks in the US as a good example. Since welfare was introduced, their lives got worse.
