SINGAPORE: Some Tengah flat buyers who signed up for a centralised cooling system have complained of issues ranging from it not being cold enough, condensation problems and leaks.

He said he turned the temperature down to 16 degrees Celsius, but felt that this was comparable to temperatures of between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius with conventional air-conditioning.

The 34-year-old Ms Lim said that even at 16 degrees Celsius, with turbo mode and full fan speed, the cooling system felt more like a fan than air-con.

Traitors had sold out this country to the globalist anti-carbon cult, you can expect plenty of 'sustainable', 'carbon neutral' or 'eco friendly' bullshit coming your way.

Besides huge fugly trunking, it's a most kum gong inappropriate design not meant for residential areas like horror disaster waiting to happen.

Such commercial concepts has been applied successfully on industrial/commercial offices simply because it is designed to be applied across large floor spaces with centralized ceiling blower units which has less variation in cooling timing during office or opening hours. Hence power savings can be achieved through sheer economies of scale.

It should never be force-fed into individual small pigeon holes as the chilled system are never meant to be designed this way. In fact it becomes less efficient when there are too many chilled water pipes being routed to individual units which are turned on/off at different times by low-ses HDB owners - worse for different rooms some more throughout the day, resulting in uneven load and long cooling times.

In theory sound good (to fill up the coffers for the contractors) but in reality is a horror show.

KNN even normal air con piping got leaking issue.

By setting up this long network of pipes connected to a central airway, I hope these morons enjoy bouts of tuberculosis from all the mold and leaks.

stupid decision making by government

back in the 70s, quite a number of private condos were built with centralised AC. after 10 years when things start breaking down, it was difficult to get consensus on repair/maintenance costs. those buildings that remain today all have their central AC switched off.

so much history before and they make the decision to go ahead with this.

The difference with this is it will be controlled by HDB which will force the repairs and maintenance down to the residents or shared by all HDB

you voted for it, good luck
