This is me carrying the bowl of ramen (picture shown below) that I was styling for a photoshoot yesterday. A friend and I were taking photos for Takagi Ramen's new menu.
With the help of two friends, I've ventured into photography and videography as a career. Finally can turn my artistic eye into good use!
Sometimes, things might come as a blessing in disguise. I was sued, lost my job, was charged and had to pay a fine, and would now be required to pay the Singapore prime minister $150,000.
It seems like the past more than a year has been a roller coaster ride. I feel most guilty for putting my family, especially my parents, through this. They didn't have to go through this, but I kept hoping that for the good of the country, things will get better.
I am really thankful my parents have been such a pillar of strength. They are the people I care the most now in this world. They were also the reason I cried in court. I am amazed by their resilience and I am grateful for them for being there for me, and for bringing me up.
In a way, having things unsettled in my life caused me to relook my priorities. It also allowed me to venture into developing my artistic skills, also with the help of another friend. I've always enjoyed creating art and taking photos. Life changing events like these sometimes spur you in a different direction. It hasn't been an easy journey, though, to have to sometimes stop to ask yourself what you are doing. And to continue to believe in yourself and hope that you can carve out a new road for yourself.
I've shared this over the last few days, I had to carried the weight of the defamation suit but in my heart, I've put it to rest. The $150,000 is going to be difficult to pay off since I do not have a fixed income and it's only tricking in very slowly.
But what's important, at the end of the day, is that we are happy, we know we have done the right thing, our conscience is clear and this allows us to live our lives in as peaceful a manner, and as happy as can be.
No matter what, I think what was done has gone some way to improve the lives of people. And I am grateful.
And it is heartening when you get compliments from people you work with which gives you the confidence that you are doing things right. Thank you, Takagi Ramen, for giving us the opportunity to work with you.
I will have to discuss with my lawyer on my next steps on the defamation suit. Will update in the next few days.
Meanwhile, do have a good weekend. Christmas is next week! Here's wishing everyone a blessed holiday! smile emoticon
