Re: Those lambasting Tanjong Katong Primary School teachers are just plain ignorant

We all know they contingency planning, the trip take time to organise & definitely Sabah side too...people are not that ignorant about this, by bashing TKPS....they all bash them, for they are bashing the proud, overbearing, ever boastful PAP...that simple.

It is PAP bashing...."pride has its fall".....the "good luck token" is already gone...cremated...so, more of these things will come...nature, is helping us by making those who collect huge salaries & make them work, for every cent of what they are paid....over the last 50 years, all the Minister Of Education, is seldom heard, the not so "HENG"..now has to do a lot of work...& so did "KFC" Tan....etc...work for every cent, they are paid. No more, good salaries, cushy jobs...heaven has got eyes!!

Re: Act of God can claim insurance meh?

Don't think the tragic events that caused the death of 10 Singaporeans can claim insurance. It's an Act of God and insurance companies already covered their backside on that score. Only way to claim monies is to sue the school or MOE for negligence or something !

Bro, first and foremost have to established whether the 10 victims were covered by insurance.

if they are not covered then need to worry.

from news and reports and so far No insurance companies have step forward your guess as good as

mine .

Re: Act of God can claim insurance meh?

Cannot claim under 'act of God' as this earthquake was not a random natural disaster. According to a number of high-ranking Sabah officials, the earthquake was caused by a couple of ang moh nudists. So, the families of the victims should sue the ang mo nudists directly for compensation.

if got cover by insurance in the first place at least can try to claim.

if totally no buy insurance then how to claim.

Insurance Companies use actuaries to calculate the risk in insurance and decide the premium based on one's risk profile. But actuaries cannot put an exact value on the risk due to act of God. Hence, no insurance company covers for death due to act of God.

some whites people went naked and pissed on the mountain top just a few days before the earthquake. Its a holy site for the kadazandusun tribe and they should not have done this. those white guys also told the local guides to shut the F*ck up when he forbade them not to tarnish the site. They are now waiting trial at a local tribal court.

If U are pious monotheist (believer in ONE God), EVERYTHING is = act of God because "In the beginning,..God created..... "

Some insurance might NOT cover acts of terrorism/ war but most do if inadvertent (I.e.: the insured is not a terrorist/ soldier fighting a war). As for acts of God, all natural calamities are (IIRC), legally classified as 'acts of God', which are usually INFREQUENT: thus the PRINCIPAL how insurance was invented in the first place, so yes, a claim is valid if travel insurance was bought generally speaking.

Climber who caused uproar by posing naked for pictures on Malaysia's Mount Kinabalu may be Hong Kong resident

Emil Kaminski became infamous among the online community after posting the pictures.

A Canadian hiker said to be a Hong Kong resident was one of a group of tourists that posed for pictures in their birthday suits atop Malaysia's Mount Kinabalu, a stunt which caused uproar among locals and officials who said they had offended the spirits of the sacred site and so caused Friday's earthquake.

Emil Kaminski became infamous among the online community after posting the pictures, and has since called Masidi Manjun, the minister for tourism, culture and environment in the East Malaysian state of Sabah, an "idiot" and "not a minister of tourism" for blaming the nudists for the quake, which left at least 16 people dead.

Kaminski posted the comments on his Twitter account along with a picture of a naked man's derriere against a background of several mountains.

An earlier tweet also referred to the minister as a "dildo".

A Facebook search for the name Emil Kaminski suggests the user is a Canadian living in Hong Kong.

The name is also linked to MonkeeTime, a travel website dedicated to videos and pictures of Kaminski's exploits.

Messages sent to the website by the South China Morning Post last night received no reply.

Sixteen bodies have been recovered by the search and rescue team on Malaysia's Mount Kinabalu after a 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit the eastern Sabah state. Photo: Xinhua

Media reports said about 10 foreign tourists had broken away from their entourage of 27 and stripped naked for pictures on Mount Kinabalu sometime last month. When warned not to by their guide, they called him "stupid" and told him to "go to hell", the online news outlet Malay Mail Online reported.

The act angered many locals who consider the mountain a sacred site as it is believed to be the final resting place of their ancestors.

On Friday, the popular climbing destination was jolted by a magnitude 5.9 quake while the 4,095-metre World Heritage Site was crowded with hikers.

The mountain is a popular destination for travellers from around the world who rise during the small hours to view the rising sun from its peak.

The Toronto Star last week reported that two Canadian siblings were barred from leaving Malaysia after being blamed for the earthquake. Lindsey and Danielle Petersen were among the tourists who have been identified as disrespecting the holy mountain.

"When the earthquake occurred it can be taken as confirmation of what the consequences would be when these people decided to bare all on top of the mountain," Joseph Pairin Kitingan, paramount leader of the Kadazandusun community, told the Borneo Post.

"We cannot play around with the spirits on our sacred mountain."

There are clauses in the travel insurance that says, you engage in dangerous activities, it would not be covered...but don't worry, those deceased & those short cut their trip, will covered by the government of the day, with income from all of us...the fact is, we are covering for them...or else, where did the government get their money from?? GCT, Heng, Cousin Tony etc...paid from their own pockets??

Dead Teachers Worked 13 Hours A Day! Medals And State Flag For Them?

Dead teachers worked 13 hours a day!! Do you work 13 hours a day? They wouldn't stop working even with broken skulls and bones. I hope their coffins get draped with the state flag and they be posthumously be awarded medals of honour.

tkps_kinabalu_tragedy_naturaldisaster_3.jpg

According to TKPS pupil Emyr, one of his teachers, Mohamed Faizal, who is recovering from his injuries used his body to shield three of the pupils from falling rocks and boulders on Mount Kinabalu during the earthquake.

The other teachers on trip include Mr Terrence Loo, who was among those who perished, and Mr Mohammad Ghazi, who is still missing.

Emyr's father, Mr Sadri paid tribute to the teachers for their selfless acts. He said: "They went two or three miles, helping them, shielding them, taking the hits, even with a broken skull and bones, they still brought them down 7 kilometres in blocked paths."

Mr Sadri added that to him and most of the parents he talked to, they owed it to the teachers.

Sadri also revealed that for the late Mr Terrence, he helped a bunch of students before going up for others. This was also the case for the missing Mr Ghazi who helped some of the kids and went back up again. Sadri said that both Mr Terrence and Mr Ghazi are the real heroes.

All the students said they are very nice teachers. They would stay behind after school hours and work about 13 hours a day for the children and loved their job.
