This is on going project.... IKEA is a profitable business and a crowd drawing brand. Unlikely to be cancel as hundred of thousand of properties are currently being build across JB.

I think this location at Sutera is probably a hoax though. It is more likely to be in Tebrau City. Ikano (Ikea master franchisee) purchased the land from Plenitude in 2009.

but ikano could just sell off the plot of land since the value has gone up. they opening in penang is a wet blanket announcement for fellas like me who hoping for IKEA in a couple years time. let's see what happens!

If e land is sold then there shd be some announcements. Likely to have KIV e land until there r more developments around Tebrau.

oh..if IKANO is not Bhd (public listed) and land is sold to private company, there may be no announcement. previously announcement made was by plenitude (public listed) on bursa

Okay, thanks for the info. From the other forum, it appears that the site wasn't sold. There was also the mentioning of IKEA in the 2013 article I posted earlier and the IKEA site is still on Plenitude's website now (http://www.plenitude.com.my/desatebrau/properties.html). So it is highly unlikely for Ikano to sell the strategic site. To me, the upgrade of 2-lane Pandan bottleneck and Pasir Gudang highway are more important. Both hold the key to the appeal and further development of the Tebrau area.

oh yes, definitely major upgrade of highway there is a must. but i think the pandan / pg flyovers were just constructed not too long ago?
another push factor is austin heights golf countery club and water park. seems nothing being done there too.

Oh, I mean I hope to see the 2-lane expand to more lanes over Sungei Tebrau of Jalan Pandan. Are there any road works planned over here?

Is the Austin Heights water theme park still under construction? I have the impression that construction has been on-going for a few years already.
