Man who burned bus suspected wife cheated

A fire on a bus that killed six in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou Province was caused by a man burning a bucket of gasoline to take revenge on society because he suspected his wife had cheated on him, local police confirmed Friday.
The suspect, surnamed Su, lit the bus with the gas he brought with him and was venting his anger against society, according to the official Sina Weibo account of the Criminal Investigation Department under the Ministry of Public Security, who participated in the investigation.
Su was arrested Friday.
The fire, which killed a 4-month-old boy and injured 35, occurred at around 1 pm Thursday as the bus was passing a primary school in the northern part of Guiyang. The fire spread quickly and people did not notice there were emergency hammers to smash the windows, survivors said.
The public expressed anger towards Su's behavior, saying he lacked mercy or respect for other people's lives. Others expressed concerns that actions such as this, where disgruntled people violently vent their anger against society, are becoming more common. Some praised the police for their prompt investigation into the case.
A bus fire that claimed the lives of 47 people in Xiamen, East China Fujian Province in June 2013, was also caused by an outraged man venting his anger. He died in the fire.
