Loyalty To Singapore

Loyalty to SG is different from loyalty to PAP.

Some Singaporeans think that speaking against pap policies is tantamount to being disloyal to SG. This mind set is due to 50yrs of pap rule which caused some Singaporeans to equate the pap to SG. The pap is not Singapore.

As Singaporeans we need to be loyal to SG. But that does not mean that we need to support pap.

So if a pap policy is bad for SG and Singaporeans, all loyal Singaporeans need to speak up against that pap policy. If a pap politician is not good for SG and Singaporeans, all loyal Singaporeans need to vote against that pap politician.

If an Alternative Party politician is good for SG and Singaporeans, all loyal Singaporeans need to vote for him/her.

All Singaporeans include SAF regulars, NSFs, NSmen, SPF personnel, SCDF personnel, civil servants. We shd be loyal to SG and be willing to speak up against the pap for any bad policy

A government cannot function without tax from the people. So, is the PAP ever grateful to the people for their sacrifices and trust?
No. the government is doing a lot of funny things behind the peoples' back in the name of national security / state secret.

It is unnatural to be loyal to a sovereign state. Humans are naturally loyal to their own kind, to their own tribe, to their own god, to their own cause but never to an artifically created entity called country.

Therefore, in Singapore. The call to be loyal to Singapore is no difference from being loyal to PAP. The evidence is ample.

To be loyal, I guess you have to first idenitfy with the country. Does anyone get a sense that the Singapore identity seems somewhat diluted these days? Do we still wear our Singapore badge with pride? I wonder.

We shouldn't be taking such a short term perspective when talking about a country. LKY has such a myopic view and we shouldn't be like him. To LKY, he considers S'pore already a success story when it's barely 50 years as a nation. Being an ego-maniac, he does that because he only sees things with reference to himself, within his own lifetime.

People always say if PAP is voted out, all that we have build up would be lost. That's a short term view which the PAP has been brainwashing us with. We must take a longer perspective of things. Yes, once the PAP is voted out, S'pore has to rebuild itself and there would be pain and suffering in the course of doing so. Anything worthwhile doing can be achieved only with pain and suffering. But for S'pore to continue to have a hope for our next generation and the next. the only way is to disentrench and unwind ourselves from all the perverted policies of the PAP. That would take some time but the end result is all the worth it.

A nation's history is a very long one and you cannot measure success in such a short timeframe as the PAP does. We are only fooling ourselves if we do. As we can see now, all PAP policies are now crumbling as it is only now that they being really tested. It's pretty obvious to all that their policies are failing. We should therefore be prepared to move S'pore into a new phase by voting out the PAP for that's the only way S'pore ever has hope of ensuring a long history. If we stick onto the present govt, the end is pretty near. There will be some short term pain during the rebuilding phase as we get a new govt that cares for its people, but the future will be definitely be brighter. That's what being loyal to S'pore is all about. It has nothing to do whatsoever with LKY or PAP. Both will be dead soon, though the former will even be sooner.
