Re: "Mr Lee Kuan Yew's condition 'improves slightly': PMO - Channel NewsAsia"

Yes, plenty, but not usually in someone so old. Many people get into accidents for example, go into a coma and recover later, but they are much younger and healthy. He already had a stroke in 2013, and his old shit body is just shutting down.

I agree.
Any individual age 80 or better, should not use up such precious resources.

The brain dead and unconscious are already in Parliament. Have u seen how many stupid statements are made by PAP MPs (brain dead) and how many are asleep at their seats (unconscious).

The first victim to survive rabies was a girl who was bitten by an injured bat when she tried to help it. There was no cure and the doctor decided to put her in an induced coma. Miraculously, doctor found her body developing antibodies to fight the virus. Finally she was cured by her own system.

To reduce the work load of the body, it becomes a practice to put the patient under sedative and even coma for severe case.

There isn't any known pneumonia treatment protocol which requires the patient to be continuously sedated to the point of unconsciousness for such a prolonged period (> 1 month). Also continuous use of strong antibiotics over such a prolonged period in such an elderly patient would likely have extreme adverse side effects.

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/lee-kuan-yew-s-condition/1698354.html

SINGAPORE: Mr Lee Kuan Yew's condition remains largely unchanged since the previous update on Saturday, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement on Friday (Mar 6).

His doctors are continuing to monitor his condition, the statement added.

In a Feb 28 statement, the PMO said: "He remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation in the ICU at Singapore General Hospital. He is continuing with his antibiotics."

Mr Lee, Singapore's first Prime Minister, has been in hospital since Feb 5, when he was admitted for severe pneumonia. On Friday evening, Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim said he was told Mr Lee's condition is "stable".

Tonight, when the cleaning lady comes in to plug her vacuum cleaner into the ventilator socket and unplug the ventilator, the switch will automatically flip off when no electricity is running to the ventilator.

A political prop is a political prop. Whether he is conscious but wobbly, or sedated, he still serves the same purpose.
