“Your performance has further elevated what has been evident throughout the Games – that our athletes are not only capable of going toe to toe with the best, but are firmly establishing ourselves as the favorites,” Bindra wrote on Twitter.

“Our first individual Gold might have taken over a century to come, but the comparatively miniscule time taken for your to bring home the second is a solid indication that we, as a sporting nation, are on the rise.”

Chill, dude.
It's only 2 medals in 100 years.
"Comparatively minuscule time"?
It has been 13 years since the first medal was won at the 2008 Games.
India won zilch in 2012 and 2016. Does this mean that India declined for a long, long time?
China has been winning gold medals by the dozens before you were born.
In the time you took to win the gold, China won another 2 medal (gold and silver in 10 m platform diving).

AUG 7, 2021

TOKYO - Neeraj Chopra won the men’s javelin on Saturday (Aug 7) for India’s first ever Olympic athletics gold.
Chopra, 23, managed a winning best of 87.58 metres to go one better than India’s previous best: two silver medals won in the 200m and now-defunct 200m hurdles at the 1900 Paris Games by British-Indian Norman Pritchard.
The Czech Republic filled out the podium at Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium, Jakub Vadlejch taking silver with 86.67m and Vitezslav Vesely claiming bronze with 85.44m
Chopra, the 2018 Commonwealth champion, seized the lead with a throw of 87.03 on his first attempt, a distance no other competitor achieved during the final, winning India’s first gold of the Tokyo Games as his overjoyed team mates and coaches watched from the stands.
With medals assured, Vadlejch and Vesely attempted to reach the top of the podium on their final throws but each fouled.
Chopra became only the second Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal after Abhinav Bindra won the 10-metre air rifle event at the 2008 Games.

The evening was a disappointment for Germany’s Johannes Vetter, a favourite for the podium as the only competitor in the final to have thrown over 90 metres, who finished ninth.

Bias sport events meant for losers angmoh to win.

Each sport events shd come from each country favourite sport. India catch cobra King, good at cheating and they sure win golds hands down....

Wtf, rowing with a long platform with 6 people, that is Dutch sport meant for Dutch dicks to win. Want Asians to win... go fuck off...

Malaysia Malàys sure win golds in sepak takro hands down and why not inclusive in Orlumpiak...

Fuck this racist Western sport events meant to despise the East Asians as inferior humans...

If Singapore can get more CECA athletes, we could win more medals at the Olympics. CECA has granted Singapore access to the India market of over 1 billion people.

SG should get more athletes from China if SG wants to do well at the Olympics.

I see our sinkie athletes not many is full time sports. More like part time. Should get stipend to pay for all the expensive physio and sports professionals, equipment, etc out of pocket expenses instead of importing full time duds. :cautious:

China has been winning gold medals by the dozens before you were born.

That's nothing to be proud of if you know how the 'sports schools' in China operate and how they treat their retired athletes.

Nothing wrong with import if you buy the likes of Sifan Hassan. So many Africans have moved to the western countries. We’re just not a prestigious country to attract these athletes, the athlete will probably chose an angmoh country who pay half of what we pay because they know that we do not have the right environment and people who will push them to greater heights. The best example is the fucked up sports council that gets engaged in politics rather than sports.

In fact we’re pretty good at destroying talented athletes, one example of which is the marathoner Soh Rui Yong.

That's also a good idea. We should bring in chinkland athletes in swimming, gymnastics weight lifting and diving. We can also import in wrestlers from India. There was once some bollywood movie about how India has many talented wrestlers but there's poor leadership. India provides us with wrestlers under CECA, PAP will provide exceptional leadership. The synergy will be unstoppable.

No matter how good the athletes are, they come to Singapore, their standard will drop to the pits.
