I almost rented a sea view apartment fromgot a Cantonese landlord

The Cantonese landlord rejected me for an Angmoh tenant that offered cheaper than me and lease period shorter than me. Angmoh the best!
That’s what the agent told me. Then the angmoh stood them up on paying deposit so he came back to ask me. I said okay as I hadn’t found an apartment then and I like the sea view very much.
So I almost rented the sea view apartment - paying my original offer price and not the cheaper Angmoh price hor.
The Angmoh offer is $100 cheaper and lease period is 6 months only VS my one year lease. Like that the Cantonese landlord also chose to rent out to Angmoh. Who said Angmoh not the best?
But too bad no 缘分we can’t agree on the terms of tenancy agreement and so in the end I asked for my deposit back and I didn’t rent the apartment.
The Cantonese landlord is not using a standard tenancy agreement with unreasonable clauses. I asked her to put back all the standard wording and they refused so the deal is off.
When it comes to the crunch, Angmoh is the best whether you said it or not indeed.

i also prefer angmoh even though rent is slightly lower as they have little to no drama, pay on time, require little attention, don’t harass me, seldom cook at home (and if they do it’s not greasy nor smokey), and most important of all are very handy. worst are nehs followed by tiongs, then chinks.

You know what? As usual I am an exception. When I handed back my rental apartment, the landlord agent handling the handover said “WOW!”. She said she never see the toilet so cleaned before when tenant handover.
I took days thoroughly cleaning up the floor to ceiling windows of my rental apartment too. I didn’t even clean my own condo windows in over two decades. That’s how stressful living in a rental apartment is that lucky hdb sinkies will never understand.
