If WP is meek and ineffectual as some claim, why are they attracting increasing number of talented individuals? Many of whom are very well established in their careers. Surely WP must be doing something right.

There is no other political party that has the magnetic pull factor like the WP. LTK is shrewd. He does not talk himself into a situation where the pappies can clamp him down with law suits, unlike JBJ, CSJ and other political bigwigs in the past. LTK moves stealthily like a fox and he will go for the kill when the time is right.

His charisma attracts other young political wanna-be who are professionals in their work life and who share the same vision that pappies are ruining the country and letting the foreigners to become the masters in the future.

Agree with you. Though i also agree with some commentators that WP has more scope to be more outspoken and Low has been too cautious at times.

No, the WP did not screw up ... the screw up is due to the large number of imported foreign shits who voted for pappies. Why should any imported shit vote for WP? No reason at all. Why should a foreign imported shit vote for pappies? Plenty of reasons and especially pappies is their God which gives them a good life, a job and education in the island which they could not find in their birth land. Not a bad trade off to either side ... you give me shits, I give you vote.

Ultimately, sinapo will become a country where it is populated by foreign imported shits who have no love for the island except for their own self interest. Without nationalism, sinapo is doomed.

The quality of candidates he is drawing suggest that they like and know what he is doing. A case in point is Daniel Goh. His was a baptism of fire where the Chinese press launched the smear campaign at the start of the 2015 elections without verifying facts - the basics of journalism . Note how he as well as his wife handled it. More importantly he kept the pre-arranged interview appointment with the Chinese press journalist and did not make a song and dance. A class act. It died down rapidly. He did not throw a tantrum or make it an issue during the rallies.

I even remembered the ST's Peh Shing Huei who previously held the new editorship and the son of a former PAP MP condemned the Chinese press for their disgusting role in this.

Sadly some in Singapore can't work out what he is doing. Obviously the adage on the ways of skiing the cat is lost on them.

I went thru WP's website on speeches by various WP MPs and NCMPs for the 13th Parliament. Everyone is there except for one person, guess who? Something is definitely going on.

All political parties are the same here - factions will emerge and will fight, and one will emerge the tiger on the hill. WP has been so quiet so there is nothing to fight for. For a while, you thought LTK got a handle on things. It ain't true afterall. Only they gain success recently, and this is how they start fighting again. Basically it is nothing more than the disgruntled "old guard" being asked to make way for young blood - a necessity in my view. This group happens to be in the cadre system and do not want to leave.

CSM happens to be around and is a rallying point for them. For him to take the charge suggests that he has been viewed as a threat long before this incident. He is likely to take the plunge and hara-kiri knowing his days are just as numbered.

You take a look at the leadership in WP- they have been changing every now and then. The only thing that is stable is the duo-in-charge, LTK and Sylvia. They call the shots but it is clear the "others", so called "insignificants" gang up against them when they feel threatened. Same story as SDP as well. Same headline like not having "inclusive leadership" as another dumb excuse.

Having said it, a purge is due soon in WP and this group will likely leave or join another political party.

WP has surely got better candidates no doubt and this is increasing their credibility. Still cannot match PAP but nevertheless it is still better than the rest of the political parties.
