To each their own bro. Their is no need to get uptight with people who do not wish to pay the levy just because they think is unfair. In this world there are many kinds of people who will find the reasons to justify their actions.

I am ok.. my point is we need not feel any inferior :p

For those who can't afford the levy, then they shouldn't be even thinking about going in to gamble.

I do not support the levy system but understand it serves to deter certain groups from entering due to various reasons.

For me, I love to gamble so no choice, annual for me. :(

Since knowing you in SBF days.. I know you are KTV lover never expect you also casino killer

Great - finally received the MBS email confirming my online sign-up for membership [site wasn't altogether glitch-free at certain times] ....
most likely I'll make my 2nd visit sometime next week and this time round will ensure that my play will not be 'wasted as in last visit' by collecting the Premier Advantage card before I start playing
Very likely to end up with annual 2k levy if this becomes "addictive" ..... but before that maybe I should just pop by the RWS Casino at least once - to confirm that MBS would be the 'better choice' over RWS ? :p
Casino-gambling/fun : another enjoyable 'stress-free ?" option/activity for my afternoon-offs etc in addition to the usual spa-pampering, shopping or window-shopping, etc .....

Co-incidentally happened to see the waiting RWS Coach this afternoon at Tampines while queuing for the IKEA Shuttle Bus ...
Didn't see any MBS equivalent shuttle coach tho' - thought I 'heard from somewhere' that MBS would also be having their shuttles

When ang mo's go Geylang to cheong, it is quite common for many houses to chop them and charge them more than what locals would pay.

The feeling of having to pay the levy is the same as having to pay the ang mo price.

Sometimes been Singaporeans .. a lot of things is not under our control.

For example, my family wishes to go MBS or RWS for an outing over the weekend
regardless whether to gamble or a place for entertainment.

A family of 3 pax= $300 worth of levies ...I also paid.

The 2 new casinos inside Singapore there is no reason being Singaporeans I never enter in before. Based on your Geylang & ang mohs example, if the entrance levy is to stay forever then we forever don't enter the 2 SG casinos :p

I disagree with this. Things are within our control. The feeling of helplessness is because many Singaporeans will only look after their own narrow self interest and do not know how to band together to get what should be rightfully theirs.

For example, we can always choose not to be a Robert by boycotting the casinos. As an individual act, this might not have a very large effect. However if all Singaporeans band together, then this can have a signfiicant impact on the financial viability of the casinos. The government would then be forced to consider removing the levy or risk having the IR's go bankrupt.

It is because Singaporeans always take the easy way out and give in that we have live with all the crap in Singapore.

The MBS premier dollar is the benefits. Basically the pts is to determine your card status. The higher the premier pts your have, the faster you earn premier dollar.
My previous trip to MBS earn $650 permier dollar. I played from 7PM - 5AM (10hours) slot games, my ave betting was $3/spin and my bankroll was $2k.

The irony of this levy is it may actually works. There are hardcore who rationalise just like the ah Q of yesteryear. Let them fuck themselves as quick as they choose.

Ultimately economics will dictate the local IRs to remove the levy. I will then walk into the IRs FOC will these clowns looked like fools having to pay $$$ for going in earlier.

Bro, I think at this point of time, I don't think there is any need to explain to anyone why people pay levies to go in. Want pay just pay. Don't want pay then don't pay.

Whatever you said, those who don't agree on paying levy will just think you are robert or whatever they can think of. Just let them say or think what they like. It's like you are playing on a blackjack table and the uncle/auntie pass some remark on how you play. Don't get affected by what these people say. If they are not happy to sit on the same table, they can jolly well, stand up and go other tables.

The pleasure is in going into a casino to gamble. These kind of levy talk doesn't have any form of purpose in this casino gambling thread. Let them talk what they like. We just enjoy ourselves going into the casinos whether its local or overseas ones

wow, 2K at $3 a spin you can last 10 hours. Your luck must be quite good. I have seen people telling me how much they lost in slots in 3 hours and easily can hit near $2K.

But for your gameplay at long hours, getting pts and dollars should be quite fast

I understand the so-called 'rationale' for having the levy tho' I don't agree with it
- to deter those who find even $100 "expensive/costly" and therefore are among those who shouldn't even consider stepping into a casino since they would be in the group of "those who can't afford to gamble and can easily bear the losses etc - gambling with money that they could afford to lose as such ... "

I feel it's rather a waste of time & energy 'fighting this losing battle' - on principles etc

For those who CAN clearly afford it, why not simply treat as some form of 'entertainment entry fee/service charge' ???
If you want your "gambling fun" [without the inconvenience of travelling & time-wastage etc where FREE Entry is possible in Genting etc], it's everyone's personal FREE Option to decide whether to pay the levy for such convenient "paid fun" as such

I certainly don't belong to the "principled group' or nor of the martyr sort - 'sacrificing my right to my choice of fun' ....
As I always say, if I can afford to/it, bring it on hahaha :p
Doesn't bother me if you call me a Robert or a clown here hehehe
I'm having MY fun, are you ????
Or are you simply doing your non-stop whining & griping here
Afterall the government only want those "locals who can afford it to be in the casinos" besides the tourists who can be milked

Kia0042 - THANKS so much for the comparison between MBS and RWS & previous tips/answers !!!
Shucks - could easily have earned myself some $350+ Premier Dollar as my total slot turnover was easily well over 1k on that 1st week-end trip to MBS
- sighz .....BIG WASTE there - played from Fri afternoon and went home after midnite to sleep before continuing around Sat noon [maybe total of 12 hours to make the most out of my 24-hours] !!!
Wow - I want those complimentary monthly hotel stays - worth the 2k annual then !!!!
Must say the Westerners are really generous with their freebies compared to the "local"/Asian casinos [just like the banks : foreign vs local hahaha]

Your attitude is good. I'll be following the wan bao closely to see when you and your type ll lose your shirt, life, family and finally do the following:
1. Jump down from the nearest HDB
2. Jump from MRT platform that's not covered yet
3. Hang yourself
4. Overdose
5. Slash own wrists and loved ones

Don't say I didn't warned you.

This is coming from someone who have stuck 3 main progressives of $60k, $95k and $124k in Oz casinos and still have not much to show.

Genting has the market share of the gambling crowd mainly because it opened 1st, has Universal Studio, at Sentosa Island, and has a core base of Singaporeans who already had memberships in Genting Malaysia.

Sands is just starting to come in and that's why I think they are more generous to get a bigger share of the pie.

When ang mo go Geylang, they pay more, but the time they get is more.

If local pay $100, 45mins. Ang mo pay $200, 90mins. The $100 package don't apply to them.

Wow congrats on winning. $2k bankroll is quite a amount for slot machines.
Premier dollars redeemable at casual restaurants at Sands.

When I was there I saw a poster displaying the membership status Gold/Platinum/Diamond its tell the higher status the more points & dollars you earn.

You are playing slot games in common areas or in Ruby room

Well I would agree that talking about paying levy is not constructive here just like gambling we need to have logical thinking.

Nevertheless I also gained good experience in playing MBS & RWS here
