Singapore women's table tennis team has just beaten South Korea 3:2. The most disappointing thing is of the two games South Korea scored over Singapore, Li Jiawei lost one of them. But she made amends in the doubles. Anyway, now is minimum silver in the pocket.

Wang is the weakest link in the team.

shld b the taxpayer.....

Meaning take income tax and GST to buy Olympic medal? Ministers themselves so rich, if they want medal why don't they pay for it themselves? Or is it true that the majority of Singaporeans are willing to pay income tax and GST for Olympic medal?

Indonesia have also landed themselves on the medal tally with 1 gold and 1 bronze in badminton, and 2 bronzes in weightlifting.

Singapore and Malaysia are also poised for at least a silver each respectively in table tennis and badminton. For both, China is standing in gold's way.

Thailand have won a gold and Vietnam have won a silver in weightlifting earlier. The overall SEA Games nations tally of medals awarded (or assured) now stands: G = 2 / S = 3 / B = 3.

Another surprise may Great Britain after the athletics start. It last topped the tally in London 1908 (incidentally exactly one century ago) at the height of the empire, but has only averaged the lower top ten (or sometimes worse) ever since.

As expected, Britain has become the third country to go into double-digit gold medals. Now at third, a position I've never seen Britain in before in my lifetime hitherto. Quite a good preparation for London 2012.

seems like asian countries r doing better in the medal standing in this olympics....

With Ronald Susilo of Singapore and Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia crashing out early, I'll be supporting Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia to keep the badminton men's single gold in SEA.

It's a REAL Thai who wins it right?

Yeah...Lim Chong Wei looking surprisingly weak and Lin Dan looking surprisingly strong. Lin Dan was defeated by Ronald Susilio in Athens 2004 2nd round. Too bad Susilio didn't have the stamina to go all the way then.
