Just read today's Sunday Times (31st August 2008) and I quote:

Somehow the crowd of 300 differs from that reported by CNA of 10,000.

But then again, if you include the number passerby outside Fairprice Xtra who were going to work or the market/hawker centres, the aeroplanes and their passengers that flew overhead, the MRT train and their passengers that passes by, the vehicular traffic with their drivers and passengers passing by etc...........you would probably be able to reconcile to the CNA number of 10,000.

So much for your factual reporting, CNA . Keep it up !

It really hard to maintain consistency when one is lying.

If there are really 10,000 crowds, every media outlets would want to snap a picture from the bird's eye view instead of getting a close-up shot.

Re: 10,000???? Fans Turn Up To Celebrate Medal Win With Singapore Paddlers

You Artard, the actual figure is closer to 3,000,000 patriotic Singaporeans. All true Singaporeans are cheering them on.

Yo, what makes you so sure, your feelings again huh! you dolt!:p Stay on the bandwagon if you like but dont generalize and make rash inferrences. Incase you are not aware, those PingPong matches are just but entertainments peole watch upon. Such medals are for glory seekers, it has nothing to do with patriotism. Cheering them on doesnt make one a true singaporean, it make one just a fan.:p

Cheers.

Could U please provide link to the article where CNA says it was 10K instead of 300 from ST. The article in the first place didnt provide any numbers. Thanks

The correct figure should be 3,000,000. 66.6% of those in Singapore were cheering them on.
