Guys - please watch this before commenting... this is not another home delivery e-commerce thing.

I'd say this new technology is worth watching.. I wonder if it can work in sinkieland

tested at a test store and there were errors. for example, not all shoppers are neat, orderly and considerate. some took items from shelf, decided not to have later, and returned them all over the shop at wrong spots. messed up their "cart" and messed up other shoppers' sexperience since picking wrong items on shelf could charge wrong prices on "cart" and mess up account and credit card used to pay for account. american shoppers can be very indecisive, inconsiderate and untidy when it involves returning item back to right spot on right shelf. go to any supermarket or store here, and you'll know why retailers employ extra staff for restocking and tidying up the shelves continually. otherwise, the store is a f*cking mess.

it's never going to work unless stores are opened only in upperty, wealthy, neat and tidy-obsessive compulsive neighborhoods.

dont u just love it when videos dont explain how their technology works i can already imagine a thousand and one ways this thing can fuck up,and they have to come up with bombastic words like "sensor fusion" and "deep learning algorithm" like business speak managers and ministers use when they are trying to contribute or direct when they dont really know anything like for example paradigm shift or promote synergy while differentiating core competencies thru value adding services and transformational change while fungibly envisioning client centric archictectures.if u hear any minister or ceo uttering those words run as fast as u can.

it can only work in an utopian society where only angels need to grab food items. add arseholes and kids and the store is a fecking mess.

Why the hell shen shiong is even being mentioned here. It is just a mini insignificant supermarket that sell crappy smelly goods.

By putting Amazon with the mentioned of this tiny supermarket chain. You are insulting amazon who is a global online hightech shop.

Pls know your places sinkie.. Your stupid prime minister already disgrace you much. You wanna add on to it?

yes it looks great on video when u only have to buy one item at a time but who does that?has amazon seen the long queues at giant or ntuc and the shitskins with their $400 shopping carts enough to feed a indian village taking up 30 minutes at the counter each time?

that's what the tech is attempting to counter: no more checkout counters, no more cashiers, no more checkout lines. just zap your app on your phone at check-in and off you go shopping for food. once you grab your food and place it in any bag (eco-friendly recyclable bag is encouraged in video), the sensor and software deduct item from shelf and charge it to your account. the "cart" in the software means a virtual (soft) cart, not a humungous costco-like cart meant for bulk purchases. due to layout of store, you'll not be able to push a full-size cart around to stock 69 items worth $696. it's designed for the grab-n-go customer, a.k.a. working white collar adult in a rush to reach home from work as a date or sexual partner is waiting to get fucked after a quickie dinner.

surely u dont expect supermarkets to cater only to people who just want to grab a couple of items and go like as though they are at a petrol station convinence store, can this amazon smart sensor technology handle mass or bulk purchases quickly and accurately without fucking up or making an error somewhere.

theres already technology in australia that can handle light basket purchases, those automatic checkout counters are fantastic, the sensors are extremely fast and sensitive, just scan ur items and bag them, the machine even accepts cash which makes things super convenient.but this amazon tech is promising to revolutionize things, like theres sensors on every shelf or something, and they can literally track the movement of items from shelf to basket or bag or whatever and know exactly what u have at all times and charge it to ur phone.how can such an advance technology not fuck up?not to mention how expensive is it going to be?u need sensors everywhere, and probably need special tags for every product in ur store.
