Want to talk looks local ones also no match for hk pretty boys like Louis Koo, Nick Tse etc who not only more handsome but can't actually act and multi talented.
Even I watch those Taiwan china serials with fann wong or local actress with parts in them.....when compared to Taiwan and mainland actresses.....looks lose acting skills also lose Kns really malu

Agree. I've watched HK, Taiwanese, Chinese mainland, Korean & Japanese serials. Consistently HK TVB comes out tops in terms of acting, scripting, plot, pace and direction.

Korean dramas start off promisingly, but get dragged down by the plodding pace and lose the plot towards the end. Chinese serials are fantastic when it comes to epic dramas (production value, acting, costumes, set) but suck at contemporary dramas. The Taiwanese serials
are all talk and no action and tend to drag for hundreds of episodes. Jap serials used to be good, but have lost their cutting-edge appeal plot-wise in the past decade.

You're talking about a tiny land with a population fractionally larger than Singapore's but has produced great world-class actors through the years, e.g. Patrick Tze, Siu Fong Fong, Nam Hong, Cheng Pei Pei, Guan Shan, Shek Kin, Chow Yun Fatt, Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, Yueh Hua, Anthony Wong, Lawrence Ng, Nick Cheung, Louise Lee, the list goes on. Many are just not great actors but great entertainers and singers as well.

And who do we have? Xie Shaoguang, a decent actor. Aunties like Zoe Tay, flower vases like Fann Wong. Someone who can't act to save his life like Tay Ping Hui can even win a best supporting actor award. Go figure.

Not only actors and singers but behind the scenes personnel like songwriters directors etc.
Corey Yuen, John Woo etc made it to Hollywood even shows like departed also bought by Hollywood.
Even Taiwan managed to produce a world class director like Lee Ang.....

Sinkieland actually had a thriving show biz before pap came in.....shaw studios had its base here.....
Too bad pap stifled creativity.....

you guys can distinguish great/good/average acting ? well...I can spot a bad actor or stiff/unnatural acting. but if the acting is not so clearly awful, it's all ok to me, all acting seem more or less the same to me. I quite like Arnold Schwarzenegger's deadpan acting and especially the cheesy one liners.
