Most of the laws in the bills are good, it's PAP's implementation of these laws that are bad. Voting against every good bill does nothing to change the way PAP implements these laws badly.
Opposition parties are not going all out against one another, at least not near future or unless in a by-election. I could defend WP without comparing it with another party and in the process put that other party down.
You won't get a difference by totally replacing WP with another party. A good team is one that manages its internal affairs well, not one that speaks up more or goes hard against its opponents. And we saw after 2011 how splintered the opposition had since become, but WP has done well here, keeping most of its members.

If even one bill is bad, the whole thing is bad. Its a simple as that. And in this budget, many many things are bad. If you really believe that only certain parts of the bill is bad, then where is the WP debate on it? So by passing the budget for the PMO, they are saying Gay Loong deserves his multimillion $ salary? By passing the budget and agreeing to increase the transportation portion by 80% to $11 billion, the WP is tacitly saying lets throw more good money after bad. How about fixing all the transportation issues first before increasing the budget for it? Where is the debate on that? There are so many portions of the budget that is fishy and illogical. But the WP is debating about childcare expenses? What fucking jokers they are. I rather they vigorously debate the portions that stink, and then abstain or vote against it stating clearly the reasons why. People will respect them for it.
The budget for education is $12.1 billion over a $79.9 billion budget and that is 15.1%, way short of Malaysia. In addition, of the $12.1 billion a few hundred millions are given to FT students in the form of scholarships, subsidies, etc. Hence the net to real singaporeans is even lower than 15%
People do or say things with a goal in mind. Your goal is to put down WP for reasons only you yourself know best.
At the height of the PAP-WP war, you revived a label "wayang" that is associated with with acquiesce and artificiality, do what is called "cannot convince so confuse", paint as if WP only raised one cut and compared amounts between 2 countries ignoring the population difference of these countries.
I could elaborate but don't expect you to say anything objectively good about WP. You also sidestepped my point about why it doesn't make sense for an opposition supporter to be engrossed primarily on the only opposition party with elected seats, so we are even.

There were plenty of debates as i sat through every session as observing public. If you really want to hear debate you need to do the same. You rely on MSM to conclude there is no debate? That is so ignorant.
And this year is already exceptional spending on education right? The $500 thing for Singaporeans continuous education is considered as education budget right? Still only 15% and so much of it going to foreigner students!!

Loong can't afford to be too chummy with them lest his proteges and associates in the cabinet feel abandoned. That is why we must do our best to convince more people to vote in the WP. This way the PAP will not dare to mess with the WP and both parties can all live harmoniously together with each other in parliament, singing praises of one another, welcomong the 6.9 and the coronation of Lee III.

I already did my part. I have voted opposition every election. worker party: cheng san 1997/amk 2006. reform party: amk 2011. I am as hardcore antiPAP as they come. I have done my part. And i expect opposition to reciprocate, to do their part when voted into parliament.

The bottom line is that they still VOTED FOR THE PAP'S BUDGET!! You debate with the PAP because you don't agree, that is why you debate. If you agree with the PAP, then there is no need to debate, and lets move on to the next line item on the Budget. So, by debating with the PAP, you are telling them your point of view and why you think its better than their point of view. But in the end, you still go over to their point of view by approving the budget that allows the PAP to carrying out their point of view. What the fuck is this shit? In Singlish parlance, its called Wayang.
