Blogger Roy Ngerng has managed to reach his 70k Target in less than 4 days of fundraising. It is a huge success and it seems like Singaporeans are really getting behind Roy in his fight against Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

It certainly looks like our Supreme leader is having a legal lawsuit against Singaporeans instead of just Roy alone.

A full list and breakdown of donations will be released by Roy later for transparency.

Donations to Roy Ngerng have crossed the $70,000 mark.

This is democracy in action. People have cast aside their doubts and fears and have come together to rally behind a fellow Singaporean.

I don't agree with what Roy said or did, but hats off to the many Singaporeans who took the opportunity to help a fellow countryman, and also to show the PAP the power of the people.

I am no lawyer, but have been reading a little bit about ‪#‎Libel‬ Reformation Campaigns in the UK, Canada and the other parts of the world in recent years.


In... order to prevent their libel laws from being international laughing stock, some of these reformers have among other proposals suggested that defamation proceedings should not incentivise or reward Public Figure plaintiffs where they have suffered no pecuniary loss, as the prospect of large damage awards may result in self-censorship.



Even if Roy has admitted that he was wrong and has apologised, I believe that his trial will not just be for mere assessment of damages. It could be a landmark one which could prove to be a catalyst for our own libel reformation.

Whether or not they see Ngerng as a martyr is beside the point. What we can see, and take heart in, is that a certain segment of Singaporeans have developed an immense sense of social justice, such that they are able to see when someone has no need or want for money or reputation, that the relentless and unyielding quest for damages has evidently gone overboard.

Dear Singaporeans, first off, thank you so much to everyone and to all Singaporeans for your support! Today is Day 4 of the fund raising and we have managed to reach the target of $70,000. You can read more about what the court case is about and the fund raising appeal here.

I would like to thank everyone for the support and for the unity that we have shown. I had managed to speak to several Singaporeans who had passed the funds to me. They had wanted to thank me for standing up on behalf of Singaporeans to voice out. Please know that the support you give means a lot and I will continue to stay strong and stay on course with everyone.

Me too, I do not agree with what Roy said or did, I did donate to him, though the amount is in the 'd' category, but the action is to rally behind a fell citizen & to tell these people, never to play a fool with people's hard earn money.

By now, you should know how the PAP through its running dogs at the AGC would be able to come up with an interpretation of any law in a manner that would benefit them. We have seen this too many times already.

A judgement can always be reversed and even laws can be changed. If anyone plays hanky panky with our laws then they will face the music when the time is ripe. The question is who is willing to help Transgender Loong during his last days on the throne? Everyone knows that the days of the PAPzis were numbered in 2011 and in 2016, the PAPzis may even lose power. Who is so dumb to risk everything they have.
