Macau's economy revolves around gambling?
Nothing else other than gambling. Can be boring for non-gamblers. Food wise HK is so much more appealing. Cant be having egg tarts all day long in Macau.

That's because the children will be supported with someone else's money.
That may be true. But isn't that a much more worthy cause than for someone else's (taxpayers) money to go to Ho Jinx for her to gamble it away.
As to the suicide rates, one should not look only at the figures or trend. We should be looking at the cause. In the West, suicides are caused largely by broken relationships, substance abuse or plain boredom. All of which are self induced. In Singapore, the cause for suicides are almost entirely due to flawed PAP policies - poverty, illness (for which medical fees are too costly), job or school pressure due to massive influx of foreigners, and an all round lack of care and support by the govt. I see these all in my line of work.
So while Tracy Tan may not win her argument with you over statistics, she's absolutely right that suicides here are due to PAP policies that favor only the elites, the foreigners and its GLCs.
Who wants to have autistic children? who wants to have pancreatic cancer? is it right for the country to help a cancer patient? is it right for Singapore to help a mother with two autistic children?

I was told that the man was 40+, single, jobless and had health problems. Did pap policies drive him to take his own life?
The ultimate loser. In his own mind - useless. Jobless? Why? Can't even compete against the cardboard oldies?
Single? Can't even compete against the Banglas who can get MANY in Lucky Plaza?
Definitely a loser.
