You are now witnessing first hand the sorts of ridiculous accusations members here can conjure up while sitting behind the safety of their screens.

Everyone is suddenly an expert at riot control tactics from their armchairs. This makes them no different from the armchair generals they so often criticise.

I always say the PAP and the citizens are made for each other. An electorate invariably ends up with a government that reflects their own value systems and behaviour.

Agreed... You can blame the PAP that bring in so many foreign workers, but to make fun or blame those policeman, I think it is unfair... They did a decent job...

The wealth and stability they enjoy is also thanks to the PAP. Life has its upsides and downsides. Sometimes sacrifice is necessary in order to enjoy the spoils when things go well.

There is very little hardship in Singapore compared to what people in other countries have to go through.

If I was at the frontline, I would inform police central command that I just spotted Chee Soon Juan and his sister carrying placards and selling books at the side of the road.

The riot squad would have showed up within 5 minutes. :p

I notice Singapore has no Special Security command.

MHA control Police and Riot Squad.
MINDEF control Army.

again this is all due to PAP msimanagement.

This is a big crisis and why security command was not trigger? a top security command shall be triggered to control both MHA and Army during this crisis.

if Riot squad is hampered by traffic jam, why MHA does not contact MINDEF to send in helicopter and bring down the army?
why never activate army and use rubber bullet?

Hahahaha...that's probably true! Because the riot squad commanders have become used to such calls

On a serious note, I have seen Riot police deployment exercise regularly around Orchard road area ... especially at American Club area. Perhaps the scholars believe that was a strategic target for rioters!?! Or need to placate the damn Americans.

I have NEVER seen them doing a deployment exercise in Little India. Hence the lack of ground knowledge of the commanders in which is the least congested route to take and so on.

BUT the blame has to be on this Riot Squad. TOTALLY CAUGHT UNPREPARED. PUTTING OTHER MEMBERS of the Police Force in GRAVE & IMMINENT danger, especially the frontline policemen and policewomen who responded to the scene first.

Mr Lui was touring Little India today, a day after the riot, visiting residents and business owners to reassure them. Little India is part of Moulmein-Kallang GRC, where Mr Lui is one of the MPs.

Both Lui and Yakult very "hak yan zhang"...Moulmein-Kallang will be the next to go.

Residents I speak to say all is normal.
The whole place actually quite quiet since the riot.

I think the fear amongst the residents and shop biz is that whether it will happen again. :*:
You and I know PAP govt pays lip service to people's concerns living and having business there.

The possibility of a "revenge" attack is there this weekend or the next few weekends. These Tamils from the South may have that kind of mindset. You never know. it not difficult to buy from sheng siong at jalan besar and walk over to race course road to drink. the alcohol ban wont work as difficult to enforce.

keling die die must drink one lah, even really stop them from drinking at little india, they will just go other place to drink and will be just changing of location. all the ah nehs need is just a grass patch and some old newspapers and can sit there drink until run out of toddy.
