I have 10 very close friends. Nine of them are staunch supporters, all influential, successful and wealthy. And they all came from very humble homes and they praise our system sky high for its integrity, honesty and incorrupitbility.They explained to me in details why the PAP is the best government, why the PAP is the best party and why Singapore can only move forward with the PAP.

The only one among my ten friends who is vehemently anti - government is a total failure. He is a gambler. He is a smoker. He is a drinker and a divorcee. He is almost bankrupt and we have to pay for his share whenever we have a celebration. He will get himself drunk and intoxicated and he will start his anti government nonsense with irrational curses and finally he ended with vulgarities and profanities. Then he would vomit and we have to drive him home. What a disgusting fella.But we are still friends - all from the same NS platoon and all of us from the same OCS and all ARMOURED.

So it is not true the support for the PAP is less than 50%. I am very sure more and more Singaporeans will support the PAP when their policies are studied, revised and revamped with the interest of the Singaporeans in mind.

I believe our government will do its best to help all Singaporeans. The only party which can achieve this is none other than the P A P.

Many people complain that the government here treat the citizens like kids - this one cannot, that one cannot, everything also want to control, etc. On the other hand, when things go wrong or not smoothly (sometimes even personal life), we blame the government for not doing enough to help etc; isn't this behaviour similar to a kid depending on his/her parents for help?

Even the comparitively more comprehensive health system that NZ runs cannot be depended upon as it only covers the barest minimum of services. If you have cancer and need the latest drugs in order to have any chance of survival, you're pretty much on your own. The state only covers the most basic treatment.

well supported. i totally agree. just look at the childish and parochial behaviour of some of the forummers here. they are destructive, pampered, spoilt and totally mindless brats ...and tyrants. only how to bully people . curse people and use profanities. they can't even string a good sentence. only good as loan shark runners and thugs. utterly dispicable and this also includes some so called intellectuals in this forum - all fallen from grace. totally disintegrated and disgraceful . the only refuge they have now is the profanities they consumed and the vulgarities they displayed. utterly contemptuous!!!

The PAP govt is excellent. They may not be popular with all Singaporeans but when it comes to running the country, they do a fantastic job. Because there are a few hiccups here and there does not mean that the government is incompetent.

Until you have spent time living somewhere else, you will not realise just how good the PAP is.

The Singapore government has an excellent system which rewards hard work and innovation. That's the way it should be.

However, there are comprehensive assistance schemes for those who have fallen on hard times too. It's not as if they are just left to rot away. Google for the info. The government assistance programs provide more than enough for the unfortunate citizens who need help.

Public Assistance (PA) Scheme / CDCs

PA assists those who are unable to work owing to old age, illness or disability and have no means of subsistence and little or no family support. Cash Grants - Monthly cash grants to help with basic living expenses. Medical Assistance - Free treatment at polyclinics and government/ restructured hospitals. U are a PAP IB from 2005 - 2010, maybe more earlier, why sudden change to anti-pap? one reason u given is u can't get into Singapore university, and u start to blame PAP, but that not the real reason behind it.

The best government is one which concentrates only on the primary objectives of any government ie defence and security, law and order, education and infrastructure development.
