The Thai national who collapsed after a fall in nightspot Zouk on New Year’s Day died yesterday morning.
The family also clarified that Miss Anan Tunsuwan, 26, whose pet name was Aum, had previously undergone a sex-change operation and that they treated her as a daughter.
She had severe brain damage due to oxygen deprivation and had been in a coma for 10 days.
It was a painful decision for her mother, Ms Pringpoul Tongchub, 42, to take her off the machine which was helping her to breathe.
When Ms Pringpoul was asked about her decision, she said teary-eyed through an interpreter: “I didn’t want her to suffer any more.”
