SINGAPORE: A 19-year-old youth was robbed at knife point by two teenagers who demanded payment from him for online sex chats.
The two suspects, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested for alleged armed robbery.
Police said one of the two teenagers had threatened the 19-year-old victim with a knife.
The victim made a bank transfer of S$50 at a nearby ATM before he was released.
The incident happened at Towner Road on April 19, but the victim only made a police report a week later.
The suspects were rounded up last Thursday at about 4pm along Towner Road.
Police said the victim had been chatting online with a person he met through a social networking website last month.
On several occasions, the victim also paid the unknown person, whom he presumed to be a female, for sex chats.
He made the payments via bank transfers.
Police are investigating the case and advised the public to exercise caution when engaging in online chats with unknown parties.
