What are the charges compared to local taxis ?

Cabbies in some countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, China are usually dishonest. So using an App such a Uber, Grab or didi is safer.

When you are in these countries (or even US), try not to opt for cash payment. The drivers will always tell you "no change", hoping to get a big tip from your big note. So, although u will lose a few % because of Credit Card FX charges, at least you will not be held-hostage in the above situation.

On the other hand, u also need to be careful of paying by card. They may just charge u cancellation fee by not showing up. And u won't know about it until u are back in SG. Then it will be one hell of a hassle trying to get the money back.

That's a very important piece of information. Thanks !

The main purpose of going to JB is that you bring your own car....top up petrol, load it with shopping and zoom to your favourite restaurant.
