Yogurt to melt any heart

INDULGENCE always has its price. Or that's what your mom would say when it comes to ice cream, handsome heartbreakers and other tasty treats.

Those with a sweet tooth can go into a shark-like feeding frenzy when it comes to calorie-laden goodies. But going fruity in the head is also quite likely when things literally go pear-shaped with a burgeoning bottom.

Likewise, while dating a super hottie could give a real boost to your ego, it's not so fun to have it deflated at the discovery that you are not the only candy on the counter.

Can you have your ice cream and eat it too? Or must hell freeze over before you are the final choice and not only the flavour of the month?

Don't dismay.

Why bother licking your wounds when there are better things in life to taste than frozen cream? In this world of cheap substitutes, there are alternatives of high quality. You just need to keep an open palate.

Yogurt may be quite sour from the onset, but lather on a generous dollop of manuka honey, throw in some pistachio nuts for an added aphrodisiacal oomph and you get a delicious yet healthy reason to say no to ice cream in a tub.

Stick to yogurt long enough and you may become hot enough to melt any ice cream.

YUMMY YOGURT

INGREDIENTS

50g pistachio nuts

7 raspberries

6 tbsp Greek yogurt

3 tbsp manuka honey

4 tbsp muesli

Dash of ground cinnamon
METHOD

Lightly toast the pistachio nuts and roughly chop them up.

Take a glass and add the ingredients in layers.

Add 1 tbsp of honey and 1tbsp of the chopped pistachio nuts.

Add 2 tbsp of yogurt and place 2 or 3 raspberries, followed by 1 tbsp of muesli and 2 tbsp of yogurt.

Repeat until all the ingredients are used up. Top off the final layer with a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
