The pay comes with the workload. My friend's stall and my family stall have long queues and they work non-stop all day. Your $1 to $1.5K only for those slower business or franchise who have no problems getting foreigners hence have no need to put up high salary to attract locals. Locals won't work that kind of hours for that kind of pay. For someone without qualifications doing work U want cushy 3K job working 8hr a day. Please. Even I had to put in more than 8hr a day to earn my 3K after getting a degree. And working 13 days straight 10 hrs a day is common for many hawkers. U probably never been one. My mum and aunt who have been doing it for decades. I've done it during my school holidays as a kid. There is a reason why my mum refuse to let us take over the stall even though I can easily triple my income

1st you complain that you cannot find Singaporeans, next you complain that Singaporeans won't work hard enough. As they said, do advertise on the Straits Times and Wanbao for $4k a month, confirm plus chop got people work for you. You put big big hawker assistant @ 4k a month, want to bet the queue confirm longer than your friend and family stall's long queue? I suspect the $4k a month figure is something your mom and aunt throws about, but they have not really gotten to finding any. Who in the right mind will pay $4k a month for a hawker help? They are just using it as an excuse when people ask them why they cannot find Singaporeans.

Why are your family's stall having problems in hiring foreigners? Is it because you already hit the MOM limit? I suspect they have already hired more than their fair share of foreign labour, so they cannot get more permits. If that is the case, you should have at least 4 employees + the boss, I do not see why this business is not running every day with each staff having a different off day.

I was saying 13 days straight 12 hours a day was unreasonable, now you change the ballgame to 13 days straight 10 hours a day, which I find somewhat more decent. Then you say I don't know better? To tell the truth, roughly ten years back years ago, I did help out at my friend's stall for a couple of months. How else am I able to tell you the market rate $1k to $1.5k for the help? Let's face it, one off day a week is probably just as common as one off day every two weeks. Your $4k a month still sounds like a fairytale.

We are talking about entry level full fledged male nurses who finished NS with diploma cert here, gross $2.2k or so. Like that fresh ITE grads are looking at $1.7k gross? You probably mean those senior ITE nurses who already worked at least 7 years to get their miserly $3k gross.

As I said don't bullshit here, one of my closest friend is a nurse, I wouldn't know how much they are earning? And it is pretty evident there is more than meets the eye for your family's quest for a hawker assistant. Sure, you can triple your pay, if you takeover as the boss. But will you even considering paying $4k a month to each of your staff.

They don't call them ite nurse assistant. I think it call enroll nurse. Be it ite, poly or pinoy educated, all start at around $1.5k to $1.8k. Foreigners get less because they get $300 housing allowance. To be eligible for staff nurse course, minimum education is poly, even after completing the course, basic salary still below $3k lah. I no BS, I have sources from a local govt hospital HR employee.

a houseman starting basic salary only $3k. can u give more $$ to nurse than doctor?

with medical caregiver salary so low yet hospital bill so expensive and hospital running at 98% bed capacity, better take up rate than local top hotel yet every year every govt hospitals filed losses every financial year still need funding from MOH to keep running. a C class bed cost ard $100 a day and that do not include medication and consultation. dun know $$ all go to who..
