WTF since when was this a norm in supermarts

If you step into Sheng Siong, you can see baskets every where, not only they are queuing up near the counter, there are literary scattered everywhere on both sides of the corridor during peak hours.

Very frustrating and you have to be careful not to trip over it. Wonder if BCD is still sound asleep? Time for them to buy an alarm clock.
I never shop at Sheng Siong, otherwise I would be kicking baskets around left right centre. :)

Solution is to shop off peak hours.
Weekdays around 5-6:30 pm are the best.
hardly any Q

If that old lady had cut in infront of me I bo chup what is 1 more or less but when she yelled at all of us in the Q and demanded that she should be infront of the Q that really pissed me off and trigger an ugly respond in me.

Agree with the part about not scolding the elderly person.
But would you really offer your place in the queue in such a situation? It would mean going to the back of the queue, because you cannot just allow her to stand in front of you, as that wouldn't be fair to those behind you.

Please answer truthfully, assuming that you were number 2 in a queue of 20. :)

If though behind me raise objection, I'd tell the old folk to leave the basket with me and stand beside me. When it's my turn, I'd ask the cashier to bill separately. Of course I'd get annoying stares and even unkind mumblings from behind, but this is my value and that's their value. I'm not kidding, I've done it before.

You're avoiding the question.

Is a 'Yes; or 'No' answer that difficult ?

You've done it before in the manner you described is not relevant to JW5's question. He wants to know (and we want to know) if you will offer your position in the Q and yourself move back to the end of the Q.

Will you do that ? Yes or No ?

You're oblivious to the answer already there, obviously no.

Happy? How about you? If you, yes or no?

Unlike you who's so interested in me, I won't mind if you choose not to answer.

Yes, I'm happy to have forced an admission from you that you will NOT move back to the end of the queue.

I will not be drawn into a different discussion on who is interested in who. I will make you eat your words (that you're not interested in me) in some other threads.

What is important is your admission that despite all the lofty talks about being kind and sparing a few minutes to an old folk and putting yourself up as a good example to the young kids [and most importantly, your modus operandi of putting down the TS as usual and stepping over him to portray yourself as someone who is mature and magnanimous] your 'good deeds' is carried out at the expense of the people in the queue who is behind you.

If you're truly fair, you should do like what JW5 suggested - give up your position in the queue and move back to the end to join the queue.

You want to know what I will do ? NO, I will not give up my queue; but if I do decide to give up my queue for good reasons, I will do as what JW5 suggested and not attempt to be a hero-hypocrite.

Now we all know why you choose NOT to answer JW5's question directly. You deliberately introduced a new scenario to avoid answering his question 'directly'.

I'd spare a few minutes letting the old folk pay together with me. There's nothing lofty about that. Going back to queue number 20? You must be crazy to expect me to do that unless you're lying on the ground oozing blood. I'd give up whatever queue to help you call ambulance.

What I meant by example to kids is to help within limits. Another example is not to bend over backwards letting people take your kindness for weakness. Yes, the few minutes more would affect the queue behind me too. I said already, there'd be annoying stares and unkind mumblings. What else do they want? A fight over a few minutes? Then I have to stand my ground and defend myself.
