Huat ah....

Dont just talk ah.....
When someone told you I sincerely want to help the poor especially the older ones , but the communities is not helping and you guys should paid my a quarter million a year and vote me to champion for them, but it will take a long time, as the process is complicated. But at the same time, they can made actual concrete steps immediately to really help those poorer and older workers, and they did not and they tell you it take times. Yet at the same time, they tell you "Actions speak louder than words" And yes, concrete simple action that are within their capabilities and reach to really help the poor and the older workers immediately. Yes Now and RIGHT NOW! But they did not do so. And yet they tell you "actions speak louder than words". What are they taking you for?
If WP is sincere in pushing for the welfare of the older Singaporean workers, take immediate actions now. WP can issues a press statement telling all their party members and supporters who are business owners or work as decision maker in companies located in Singapore to give a directive to their HR that only employ Singaporean and give Singaporean older workers first priority in employment, and pay them same pay. All business owners be it lawyer firm, cleaning contractors, coffee shop owners, sign board makers, construction contractors, software service providers, child care centers, tuition centers, printing shops, logistic company, retailers, F&B operators etc... And of course the WP party leaders, Mr. Yen and party members should take the lead by starting with their firms first. After all, actions speak louder than words.
In addition, AHTC can insist that all of their services providers will only be awarded with TC contracts if their firms employ 100% Singaporean and give first priority preference to employ older Singaporean workers and pay them the same as younger workers.
All these actions are within their capabilities and reach, do not need to wait. But at the same time they can keep pushing reasonably in parliament for older workers benefit. And these concrete steps that they take will help them to strengthen their push in parliament.
So the next time, when you see a business owner who is carrying the blue flags or is a WP member, or WP supporter, remember to observe their HR policy and their actual employment situations, then you can conclude for yourself. And remember "Actions Speak Louder Than Words".
