Attending peasant banquets can be a tiring event. Usually you have to put on an act and smile while waiting for food to be served and the proceeds usually bore the hell out of the demons compared to a evening of fun at KTVs. If you are a clever peasant politician, you will find all kinds of excuses to disappear from such silly events and how nice it will be when your foes helped you out.
It came to the peasants attention that Housing Mafia, working closely with the Peasants Association and surely in cahoots with the defeated elements of Aljunied elections used all types of dirty tricks to stop the WP's Peasants' Representatives from attending the 7th Month events. By convention, the Peasants' Representatives usually attends the dinners as Big Balls of the grassroots, lending prestige to merchants who want to cook some curry.
Usually the WP would have pretended to act blur and cite dirty tricks to avoid wasting their time and tiring their elected representatives. However some clever tactians decided to use the Principle of Reverse Demonising to help themselves. By casting themselves as victims, the WP has accused Peasants Association and Housing Mafia as agents of the regime. While the regime has succeeded in embarrassing the WP peasant representatives, the boomerang effect created more damage as peasants will naturally sympathise with the underdogs.
While demonising is a good trick usually employed by the regime, the dissenters have proven, given time, they could counter demonising with 'reverse demonising' and the game will continue in accordance with the laws of natural selection.
