It is indeed SHOCKING of what the barbaric RUS troops had done. Even in war, there are Rules of Engagement over treatment of POWs. The insignificant nobody me doubts that the RUS Military High Command would sanction such actions, & may be equally shocked. May those whom had committed such crimes against the Geneva Conventions on war be brought to justice.
During the rebellion against the Qin dynasty decadent 2nd ruler, whom had foolishly trusted an eunuch Zhao Gao to rule his nation on his behalf, with Zhao Gao being equally legendary that denotes disaster even today in the Chinese lingo , Chu State's legendary General Xiang Yu SLAUGHTERED 5000 Qin soldiers whom surrendered on a poorly defended town. Those Qin soldiers were not supported, & thus surrendered to save each others' lives, but only to see their hopes dashed.
Xiang Liang, the de facto ruler of Chu State, a wise man whom had worked hard to build up a strong rebellion, slapped Xiang Yu for his foolishness. Xiang Yu's pathetic response was that he hoped those enemy soldiers whom faced death would now know fear & surrender instead of fighting. The slap by his uncle was to wake him up from his clouded judgement over the death & vengeance for his courageous father whom was killed by the Qin for a war of unity.
Immature as he was, he did not realize that it would only lead EVERY Qin soldier to fight to their death, as each knew they would lose their lives eventually. This incident had be repeated for centuries since after, & led to the Geneva Convention on Rules of Engagement. Needless to say, Xiang Yu lost, & instead, another benevolent ruler - the Han, ruled China for not just decades, but CENTURIES, an empire to be remembered....
If we Humanity FAIL to learn from PAST mistakes, we will only be DOOMED....& in this case - the end of the RUS Empire.
