World Cup 20101 screening of matches in Singapore will be used as a sweetener for ERECTIONS 2010.

ERECTIONS will be held 1 week before the WC kicks off. So announcement will be made just days before ERECTIONS also sometime in June.

If WC all shown, one COMMUNITY sure vote the SCUMS.

Gossiper also say how can GARMENT malu ans show the world S'pore GARMENT got no $100m or no more money.

North Korea will certainly broadcast the World Cup, at least for games involving themselves, for they have qualified. Singapore didn't qualify, show for what? To remind everyone of the failure of Goal 2010?

Australia is also a Soccer nation by now, having qualified for the World Cup for a 3rd time. In any case, Australians are generally good at sports all round, usually in the Top 10 of Olympic medal tallies.

Yes, Australia is considered a soccer nation now, but not 10-15 years ago when I first arrive in this country. Back then, you only get highlights from EPL once a week, and its only showing on SBS. Everyone else on the streets couldn't even care about soccer, Rugby, league, union, Cricket, AFL, are the main sports that people watch. If you told someone on the streets in 2010 Australia would have qualified three times into the soccer world cup, no one would have believed. Fastforward to 2010 and you have a bigger awareness about the Soccerroos.There are no grandiose statement by the government to make this happen, just perseverance by certain businesses and the migration of people from other soccer loving country. The latest I heard is that Australia is going to bid for hosting the world cup in 2018. I hope they succeed, it would rival the atmosphere of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Yes, Australia is considered a soccer nation now, but not 10-15 years ago when I first arrive in this country.

The simple reason is because most immigrants to OZ will be more interested in soccer rather than rugby or cricket which do not have as great the appeal around the world. It is the same case as in NZ. My prediction is that going by current trends, soccer is just going to overshadow the other 2 sports in the future.

I know one country won't be showing World Cup...Haiti !! Singapore will be on the same level as them as far as World Cup is concerned, despite being promised by someone that we will be in World Cup Finals, though he did not say anyting about the population ability to watch it though......he did not saw it coming.

Sincerely hope Haiti can recover fast from the natural disaster fast.

The morally bankrupt executives and politicians first said that FIFA's asking price is secret. Then they say it is $100 million. And you still trust these people?

Of course it will be shown. The only issue is who will pay for it.

I have also heard that elections will come around during the middle of this year.

All of you, better stop complaining about the 66% because the 33%+ of you have to do your job better this GE than the last GE. We will get our World Cup for sure but let's also ensure that we kick the PAPies out of government once and for all!
