Woman to be charged with murder after man found dead in Beach Road residence​

SINGAPORE: A woman will be charged on Thursday (May 9) with the murder of a 56-year-old man at Beach Road.

Police said in a news release on Wednesday that they were alerted early hours of the same morning to a call for assistance at a home along Beach Road.

The man, who was found lying unconscious in the unit, was taken to the hospital where he subsequently died.

The 37-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.
According to the police, both parties are known to each other. CNA understands that the suspect is the girlfriend of the deceased.
A knife believed to be used in the incident was seized. Investigations are ongoing.

The offence of murder carries the death penalty.
