Woman robbed by 3 teens

A WOMAN was robbed by three teenagers on Wednesday afternoon at the lift lobby of Block 7 Pine Close.

One of them came and stood by her before suddenly grabbing her bag and running off.

Her bag contained two mobile phones, a wallet, cash amounting to $460 and other personal items.

She could only describe one of the teenagers as plump and wearing a green and beige top with black shorts.

In another robbery, a domestic worker had her handbag containing $225 and personal documents snatched from her in a lift on Thursday morning.

She had entered the lift at Block 714 of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 with her employer and another man, who she described as slim and tanned, and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

When the lift opened on the seventh floor, he snatched her bag and ran out of the lift and down the stairs.

another 2 women robbed in lift

TWO women were robbed and injured in separate incidences last Saturday.

The first incident happened around 9pm at Bukit Batok Street 52, just as the woman, who is in her late 40s, was entering the lift.

Two men rushed in and pushed her against the lift wall. She did not understand what they were saying to her as both spoke Malay.

When she resisted, one of them took out a spanner and threatened her with it.

They then grabbed her handbag containing $50 and her $300 mobile phone, before running out of the lift.

She suffered a bump on her forehead though it is not clear how she sustained the injury.

Later that night at 11.45pm, another woman who is in her mid-50s, reported a similar robbery, this time at Woodlands Drive.

She had entered the lift, when two men pushed her against the lift wall, causing her to hit her head. When she resisted, they also threatened her with a spanner.

The thieves got away with her pouch that contained $38 and a $200 mobile phone.

She could only describe the men as in their 20s, and Malay-speaking.

Man slashed and robbed

A MAN in his early 40s not only lost cash and valuables worth $1,200 but was slashed after he was robbed along Maxwell Road in Raffles Place.

He was approached by three men when he was walking along the road on Friday at about 11.45pm. One of them said he should know what to do as it was Chinese New Year. The same man then took out a parang and began slashing him.

The other two also took out knives and joined in the attack.

The three men then made off with the victim's belongings - a clutch bag containing $400 and an $800 watch.

The man suffered cuts to his arms and was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He has since been discharged.

Snatch thief strikes outside flat Feb 4, 2009

A 21-YEAR-OLD woman lost a handbag containing a $2,300 laptop and a cellphone to a snatch thief who grabbed it from her while she was standing at the doorstep of her flat on Monday night.

She was waiting outside her unit at Block 129, Lorong Ah Soo, for a family member to open the door, when a man came from behind, snatched her white handbag and ran down the stairs.

She and her family gave chase but lost sight of the man.

The man is described as fair-complexioned, in his 20s or 30s, medium-built and about 1.7m tall. He has a piercing on his left ear.

Van broken into at Bedok Feb 5, 2009

A MAN in his late 50s lost more than $250 in cash and valuables after his company van was broken into at the carpark of Block 213, Bedok North Street 2.

He parked the van in the carpark on Monday afternoon at about 5pm and secured it before leaving.

Nine hours later at 2.05am, a neighbour informed him that the van was broken into. When he checked, he found he had forgotten to lock the rear sliding door of the van.

He lost a $200 cellphone, two packs of cigarettes, six hong bao packets containing a total of $36 and some coins

Man hit and robbed Feb 5, 2009

A MAN in his mid 40s was robbed of $140 in cash and valuables on Wednesday night at about 8.25pm in Tanjong Pagar.

He was approached by two men when he was walking along Neil Road. The first man claimed the victim owed him money before hitting and kicking him.

Both men then made off with his $100 cellphone and wallet, which contained $20 and an EzLink card valued at $20, in the direction of Pearl Centre.

The two men are described as dark-complexioned.

Elderly woman robbed

AN 81-YEAR-OLD woman was robbed of her wallet when she was heading to a market in Telok Blangah on Wednesday morning.

A police spokesman said that she was at Block 15 Telok Blangah Crescent, when a man grabbed her wallet from behind. The man ran towards Block 21 but the victim lost sight of him. She lost $238 in cash and her house keys.

In another robbery, a 44-year-old man lost about $70 in cash when he was sleeping at a pavilion at Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East on Monday afternoon.

A police spokesman said that the man, who is unemployed, had been reading newspapers before falling asleep on a stone bench at the pavilion. He was awakened at 12.15pm by shouts from a passerby, who was trying to alert him of the two men who had robbed him.

The two men were running towards Cheng San Community Club. The victim checked his bermudas to find cash missing from his pockets. He gave chase but lost the two men.
